Thrash - An Enjoyable Enough Survival Thriller Movie

Two days ago, this film was made available on Netflix as part of their usual Friday new movie release. I thought the premise looked interesting so I did not hesitate to give it a try. So how was the movie then? Let us find out more, shall we?

Brief Story Line

When a category 5 hurricane called Henry was going to pass through the East Coast, the government of Annieville town which was right in the middle advised their people to evacuate. Unfortunately there were some who were still in town like Lisa (Phoebe Dynevor - Inheritance, Bridgerton TV series etc), a pregnant woman who was driving to get out of town, Dakota (Whitney Peak - Hocus Pocus 2, Gossip Girl 2021 series etc) a young woman who was alone in her house and trio of siblings Ron (Stacy Clausen - True Spirit docudrama etc) and his younger sister Dee (Alyla Browne - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 etc) & brother Will (Dante Ubaldi) who were told to stay inside the house with their foster parents. 

The King's Warden - Wonderfully Acted, Brilliantly Told & Beatufully Done Historical Drama Movie

I had been aware about this movie for a while now and became really interested when I read it was a major success in South Korea. But I did not realize it was already playing in Indonesia on Wednesday so we only saw it yesterday when we had the chance. It was a bit of challenge cause the movie did not play in that many studios. Luckily one of them was the cinema not far from our home. All right then, let us get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Set during Joseon periode, the young King Yi Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon - Weak Hero TV series, Audrey etc) was overthrown and demoted to a normal Lord called Nosan. Minister Han Myong-hoe (Yoo Ji-tae - Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area TV series, The Swindlers etc) tried to push Nosan losing his will to live by putting him into exile. Meanwhile Cheongnyeongpo village chief Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hae-jin - Exhuma, Yadang: The Snitch etc) who heard about the nice things for an exile place, managed to convince Myong-hoe to choose his village and he himself became the Warden.

(2025) Red Sonja - A Very Mediocre Sword And Sorcery Movie Remake

I remember seeing poster to this movie long time ago in the biggest cinema chain in Indonesia, but it seemed the film was never released (or even if it was, it probably was so fast gone that I missed it). Anyway when I opened HBO Max two nights ago, I noticed this film was available there. But as it was rather late night, I decided to watch it following day. All right then, let us dive into the movie.

Brief Story Line

The red haired Sonja (Matilda Lutz - Reptile, Magpie etc) was a Hyrkanian who was separated from her tribe since childhood when the Barbarians invaded her homeland. All the years, Sonja had been trying to find the people from Hyrkania in the forest. One day she encountered some soldiers capturing wild animals and decided to free them but ended up getting into confrontation with Emperor Dragan (Robert Sheehan - The Umbrella Academy TV series, Bad Samaritan etc) who was accompanied by his protectors Annisia (Wallis Day - Krypton TV series, Sheroes etc) and General Karlak (Martyn Ford - House of David TV series, Final Score etc).

Project Hail Mary - Very Satisfying Science Fiction Film with Plenty of Heart Warming Moments Based on Critically Acclaimed Novel

I have been looking forward so much to this movie when it was released more than 2 weeks ago in the US. But since it was during the "black out" period in Indonesia to celebrate Eid al-Fitr holiday where only Indonesian films were given priority to be released, we had to wait till yesterday when it's finally available. It has advance ticket sale since last Friday and I did not hesitate to buy them immediately. OK then, let's just get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling - The Fall Guy, The Gray Man etc) was a middle school science teacher who woke up from induced coma in a space ship, suffering from amnesia. As he tried to assess his situation, Grace was able to slowly regain his memory and remembered that the sun was dying from an unknown micro organism. It was revealed that he was part of scientist group led by Eva Stratt (Sandra Hüller - Anatomy of a Fall, Munich - The Edge of War etc) studying and finding solution to save the world.

(TV SERIES) Agent From Above Season 1 - An Interesting Blend of Supernatural Fantasy in the Modern World

I was away on some urgent trip for the past few days and during the nights, I decided to watch this series that was released on 2 April. But since I did not really focus, I could only finished it last night after I returned back home. Without further ado, here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

Han-Chieh (Kai Ko - Till We Meet Again, Let's Talk About Chu TV series etc) had been working to kill demons and supernatural beings for many years after becoming vessel for the Third Crown Prince God aka Nezha (Wang Po-chieh - 96 Minutes, Us Without Sex TV series etc) in the human world. When a young woman named Yeh Tzu (Buffy Chen - Million-Follower Detective TV series, Little Big Women etc) requested Han's help to investigate haunting in her home, he agreed to help her. She would later be helping Han in dealing with other issues as well. 

They Will Kill You - Bloody Violent Action Horror Comedy Movie

Yesterday this movie was released in Indonesia after playing in the US for a week. It was something that I was interested in since it sounded and looked good. I managed to convince my wife to accompany me despite having no knowledge what it was all about except its genre. Anyway, I'll just get right on it now.

Asia Reaves (Zazie Beetz - Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, Deadpool 2 etc) who had been separated from her younger sister Maria (Myha'la - Leave the World Behind, Dead Man's Wire etc) for many years, took on a job as housemaid for an old building in New York managed by Lily (Patricia Arquette - Boyhood, Medium TV series etc). Asia met with few occupants including the wealthy business woman Sharon (Heather Graham - Boogie Nights, The Hangover etc) and also Kevin (Tom Felton - A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting, Origin TV series etc). She would also later met with the mysterious Ray Woodhouse (Paterson Joseph - Timeless TV series, Wonka etc). 

Humint - A Dark Spy Action Thriller with Wonderfully Executed Action Sequence in the Second Half

This film has been promoted in the Coming Soon section of Netflix for a while and I was quite intrigued to watch as it seemed to be garnering quite attention. But two days ago when it was supposed to be shown, I was suprised that it was only available at 10 PM which obviously was too late at night. So I decided to postpone watching on the following day. All right then, let's get on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Zo (Zo In-sung - Moving TV series, The Great Battle etc) was an experienced spy working for the South Korea and assigned in Vladivostok, Russia to investigate on the human trafficking ring together with Agent Lim (Jung Yoo-jin - Boss, DNA Lover TV series etc). They tried to convince a restaurant worker named Chae Seon-hwa (Shin Se-kyung - Tazza: The Hidden Card, Captivating the King TV series etc) to become their asset and provide info on the investigation.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie - Though Personally I Prefer The Original, This Is Still A Fun Sequel and Should Please Fans of The Games

This movie already had its advance ticket sales in Indonesia since around 2 weeks ago, and my wife and I had bought them for yesterday's show for quite a while. Hence we were able to see this movie on its first day of release which was quite rare for us. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

After the events of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Mario (Chris Pratt -Mercy, Onward etc) and his brother Luigi (Charlie Day - Honey, Don't!, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia TV series etc) continued their plumbing business where they later met & befriended young dinosaur called Yoshi (Donald Glover - Mufasa: The Lion King, Community TV series etc) during one of their job. Meanwhile Bowser Jr. (Benny Salfdie - Happy Gilmore 2, The Curse TV series etc) who followed in the footstep of his father Bowser (Jack Black - Anaconda 2025 reboot, Kung Fu Panda 4 etc) was trying to free him and plan to dominate the universe.

Keadilan - An Enjoyable Enough Indonesian Action Thriller Movie

When I saw this movie promoted in the Coming Soon section of Netflix, I already set my eyes on it. But somehow I missed out on the day it was released and only saw the day after. All right then, I'll just get on with the film then.

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice - A Pretty Hilarious Action Comedy Movie with a Touch of Sci-Fi

I noticed this movie was made available in Disney+ two nights ago and was immediately interested. But as it was already rather late, I decided to watch it following day. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

On the night when crime boss Sosa (Keith David - Mufasa: The Lion King, Horizon Line etc) was celebrating his son Jimmy Boy (Jimmy Tatro - Stuber, You're Cordially Invited etc) being released from prison, one of the guests, loan shark Nick (Vince Vaughn - Bad Monkey  TV series, Wedding Crashers etc) was shown to be having strained relationship with his wife Alice (Eisa González - Ash, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare etc). Meanwhile Nick's trusted colleague Quick Draw Mike (James Marsden - Sonic the Hedgehog 3, X-men films etc) was planning to quit from criminal life but his plan was ruined when Nick suddenly turned up and requested his help to kidnap someone. Despite his reluctance, Mike decided to help Nick in what was supposed to be his final job, though he was shocked once he realized the person to be kidnapped. 

(Mini Series) Something Very Bad is Going to Happen - An Intelligently Done Psychological Horror Thriller Series

I was aware about this series since few weeks ago which sounded interesting despite being a horror genre. So when it was finally released two days ago, I immediately gave it a try after finishing second season of another series and finished it last night. All right then, let's get on with it now.

Brief Story Line

Rachel (Camila Morrone - Death Wish 2018 remake, Daisy Jones & the Six mini series etc) and her fiancé Nicky (Adam DiMarco - The White Lotus season 2, The Order TV series etc) were on a road trip to Nicky's home to have their wedding party in one week's time. Along the way, Rachel kept on feeling something bad was going to happen and experienced few shocking and scary turn of events till they finally reached their destination.

Pretty Lethal - An Action Thriller Movie that was Purely For Fun and Pretty Entertaining

After finishing second season of one of my favorite series, I saw in the website for newly released films & series on various streaming platforms and noticed this movie was just made available on Prime Video. As it looked like fun, I decided to watch this first before continuing another series. OK then, why don't I just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

A group of ballerinas that consisted of the confident Bones (Maddie Ziegler - The Fallout, My Old Ass etc) the bitchy Princess (Lana Condor - Moonshot, To All the Boys movies etc), the religious Grace (Avantika - Mean Girls 2024 version, Tarot etc) and the sisters Zoe (Iris Apatow - The Bubble, Unstable TV series etc) & hearing impaired Chloe (Millicent Simmonds - A Quiet Place and its sequel) were invited to perform in Budapest. They went together with their teacher Thorna (Lydia Leonard - Last Christmas, A Woman of Substance TV series etc) to Hungary, but their trip was disrupted and they were forced to wait in a secluded inn quite far from the destination.

(TV SERIES) Scarpetta Season 1 - Could Have Been Better with More Technical Aspects and Less Dysfunctional Family Drama

As I was away for two weeks holiday, I was unable to catch new movies. And since I only got home late from all the walking around daily, I had very little time to see series at nights. However, last night I finally managed to finish a mystery series that was released on Prime Video since almost 2 weeks ago. So even though it's quite late, but I still want to write something about this series. All right then, let's just get right on it.

Brief Story Line

Story was told in two different timelines 28 years apart. In the present day, Dr. Kay Scarpetta (Nicole Kidman - Holland, A Family Affair etc) was just reappointed as Virginia's Chief Medical Examiner when a woman's body was found and her expertise was required to identify the cause of death. Kay enlisted her old colleague former Detective Pete Marino (Bobby Cannavale - Blonde, Super Intelligence etc) to assist her in specialist capacity. However Kay's work was sometimes a bit disturbed with her personal family issue from her older sister Dorothy (Jamie Lee Curtis - Haunted Mansion 2023, Knives Out etc) who she always had a fight with, to her niece/Dorothy's daughter the Tech genius Lucy (Ariana DeBose - Kraven the Hunter, Love Hurts etc) and Kay's husband the FBI profiler Benton Wesley (Simon Baker - The Mentalist TV series, Margin Call etc).

(2026) War Machine - A Highly Entertaining Full Action Sci-Fi Movie

I was aware about this movie since few weeks ago which totally interest me with its premise and lead star. Being major fan of action combined with some kind of science fiction element, made me very excited to watch it. That's why when it was released by Netflix on last Friday, I immediately gave it a try despite feeling a bit tired after seeing 2 films in a row in the cinema. Without further ado, here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

During the latest Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) a lot of candidates were trying their best to become part of the elite team,  including the experienced Staff Sergeant & war survivor who was referred to as 81 (Alan Ritchson - Playdate, Titans TV series etc). After a very intense 8 weeks program, many of the candidates were not selected, leaving only few who succeeded. For their final simulated exercise, 81 was appointed as team leader along with another Staff Sergeant referred to as 7 (Stephan James - 21 Bridges, Homecoming TV series etc), the loud mouth 15 (Blake Richardson - He Ain't Heavy etc), 44 (Alex King - The Longest Weekend etc), 57 (Daniel Webber - The Punisher TV series etc) and some others in a remote location.

Project Y - A Very Dark, Intense and Heavy Crime Thriller Movie

This movie was supposed to be released in all Indonesian cinemas on Friday, but in the morning when my wife and I were choosing where to see, we were surprised that it was not available in the biggest cinema chain. Hence we decided to see two other movies while postponing this the following day. Later that noon, the movie suddenly appeared on the list of that particular chain, however since we already bought other tickets, we only saw it on Saturday. All right then, let's just get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Story focused on two women who were very close like sisters, i.e the calm straight thinking Mi-sun (Han Soo-hee - Gyeongseong Creature, Nevertheless TV series etc) who was working as escort girl and the impatient strong willed Do-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo - Ballerina, Queen Woo TV series etc) who worked as driver. They had saved all their money to start their own business. Unfortunately their plan was ruined due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die - A Very Interesting and Enjoyable Science Fiction Comedy Movie

As the second of our movie marathon two days ago, we opted to see this unique film that I was immediately intrigued when I saw its trailer few weeks before. Though it was not a blockbuster movie, but I thought its plot was very interesting. All right then, I'll just dive into the film.

Brief Story Line

On a rather busy night at a diner in Los Angeles, a man who claimed to be from the future (Sam Rockwell - Argylle, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri etc) tried to convince some of the customers to join him in the fight to change their fate. There were several people who were either forced or volunteer to join him, such as the teachers Mark (Michael Peña - All Her Fault mini series, Fantasy Island etc) and Janet (Zazie Beetz - Bullet Train, Joker etc), single mother Susan (Juno Temple - Venom: The Last Dance, Fargo season 5 etc), young woman referred to as Princess (Haley Lu Richardson - Ponies TV series, Split etc), Scott (Asim Chaudry - People Just Do Nothing mockumentary series, The Honeymoon etc) and few others. 

Hoppers - Funny & Entertaining With Simple Enough Story But Still Have Plenty of Heart Warming Moments

This week there were a lot of new movies released in Indonesian cinemas. I think since the operators wanted to focus on local films starting from next week as it is nearing the biggest holiday season in Indonesia, they opted to show them now while international movies will be available in 2 weeks time. My wife and I had another movie marathon yesterday and saw this one first. OK I'll just get to it then.

Mabel Tanaka (Piper Curda - The Wretched, I Didn't Do It TV series etc) had been living in Beaverton since her childhood years and loved all animals especially the ones in the glade. However when mayor Jerry Generazzo (Jon Hamm - Transformers One, Baby Driver etc) decided to build freeway passing through the glade, Mabel was adamant not to allow it happen as the animals had to move out. When Mabel found that her biology professor Dr. Sam Fairfax (Kathy Najimi - Sister Act, Veronica's Closet TV series etc) was conducting science experiment that would allow a person's mind to be transferred to an animal-like robot, she somehow got herself to be part of it and hopped to the body of a beaver. 

(TV SERIES) Young Sherlock Season 1 - Interesting Take on the Famous and Beloved Brilliant Detective During His Younger Days

I found out about this series just recently on the internet and was interested because of the title. So when the whole episodes were released two days ago on Prime Video, I immediately started watching and finished it last night. Without further ado, I'll get right on it. 

Brief Story Line

Set during 19th century London, young & intelligent Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin - The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, The Loneliest Boy in The World etc) was getting into so much trouble that his older brother Mycroft (Max Irons - Crooked House, Condor TV series etc) decided he should go to Oxford. Meanwhile their mother Cordelia (Natascha McElhone - The Secret of Moonacre, Halo TV series etc) had been in asylum for many years due to incident during Sherlock's childhood years, and their father Silas Holmes (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love, The Handmaid's Tale TV series etc) was always away on business trips. 

Panda Plan: The Magical Tribe - Just Like Its Predecessor, Still Not An Entertaining Jackie Chan's Action Comedy

A couple of weeks ago, I saw the trailer to this latest Jackie Chan movie which was going to be released after Chinese New Year. Although it has advanced ticket sale last week, but I opted not to buy them and decided to just do it during the weekend. Anyway yesterday my wife and I went to see it in the cinema nearest to our home. All right then, I'll get right on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

While passing through a remote location, Jackie (Jackie Chan - Unexpected Family, Kung Fu Yoga etc) and his beloved panda friend Huhu somehow got themselves into a hidden place in the mountains inhabited by strange local tribe led by its Chieftain (Ma Li - The Dumpling Queen, Unbeatable You TV series etc). Huhu was mistakenly recognized as divine creature like the tribe's prophecy that she would be able to prevent major catastrophe by going to the mountain top together with a messenger. Jackie who was thought to be the messenger obviously did not want to do the task and tried to get out of the village with Huhu. 

Scream 7 - Still As Entertaining As Previous Installment of The Successful Slasher Movie Series

Once again a new slasher movie was released in the theater. As it is one of my favorite horror genre and sequel to the film series that I had seen from beginning, obviously I was interested in seeing this. So yesterday my wife and I went to our favorite cinema to watch it. Without further ado, here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell - The Lincoln Lawyer TV series, The Craft etc) had been living a peaceful life in Pine Grove, married with the Police Chief Mark Evans (Joel McHale - Community TV series, Ted etc) and had 3 children, with the oldest already a teenager named Tatum (Isabel May - I Want You Back,1883 TV series etc). Due to her past experience, Sidney was always careful with Tatum's friends especially her boyfriend Ben (Sam Rechner - The Fabelmans, Heartbreak High TV series etc). When Sidney started receiving calls from people claiming to be Ghostface, she did not consider it until the killing really began. 

The Bluff - A Pretty Entertaining Swashbuckler Action Movie

I was not aware that this movie was released on Wednesday in Prime Video till the following day when I was looking at new release on streaming platforms. Without hesitation, I immediately watched it last night as it was the kind of film that interest me. OK, let's just get on with it then.

Brief Story Line

Set in the 19th century where some pirates were still roaming the Carribbean sea, a merchant ship with its Captain T. H. Bodden (Ismael Cruz Cordova - The Pickup, Berlin Station TV series etc) were attacked by pirate ship led by notorious Captain Connor (Karl Urban - The Boys TV series, Star Trek: Beyond etc) along with Quartermaster Lee (Temuera Morrison - The Wrecking Crew, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom etc). Connor decided to find Bodden's home after finding something that he had been searching for years.

(TV SERIES) A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms Season 1 - Highly Praised Fantasy Series Set in the Same Universe of Game of Thrones

I have seen so many articles about this series on the internet which made me very intrigued to give it a try. But as it was released an episode per week, I wanted to wait till its completion before starting to watch. The final episode was released on Monday and I immediately gave it a try on that night & finished it yesterday. All right then, I'll go straight with the series now.

Brief Story Line

Set some 90 years before the events in Game of Thrones, a young squire named Dunk (Peter Claffey - Small Things Like This, Wreck TV series etc) had inherited three horses, sword, armor and shield from his master Ser Arlan (Danny Webb - Churchill, Liar TV series etc) who just past away and knighted him. After considering his options, Dunk (short for Duncan) decided to go to a tournament in Ashford to make a name for himself. During his journey there, Dunk met a young boy at an inn called Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell - The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes etc) who proposed himself to become his squire. Despite his initial disagreement, Dunk decided to accept Egg due to his persistence and ability to reach Ashford without his help.

(TV SERIES) The Judge Returns - A Well Done Legal Drama With Interesting Plot, A Little Bit of Fantasy Element and Entertaining Battle of Strategies

This series was made available on HBO Max in Indonesia since few weeks ago. I was not too sure if it would be interesting, but my wife who loved the acting of its lead cast was immediately intrigued. After watching several episodes, she highly recommended me to give it a try which I did from last weekend & managed to finish it last night. So how was the series then? Let us get into it now, shall we?

Brief Story Line

Lee Han-young (Ji Sung - Confession, Connection TV series etc) was a corrupt judge in Seoul who agreed to sway decision in favor of the ones willing to bribe him. However after an incident, he had a change of heart and turned his life around to clean corrupt Korean justice system powered by senior judge Kang Sin-jin (Park Hee-soon - My Name TV series, The Policeman's Lineage etc). Realizing he could not do everything alone, Han-young reconnected with his high school best friend Seok Jeong-ho (Tae Won-seok - Good Boy TV series, My Puppy etc) who was now a successful loan shark. He also enlisted the help of prosecutors Park Cheol-woo (Hwang Hee - Love Song for Illussion TV series etc) and Kim Jin-ah (Won Jin-ah - Secret: Untold Melody, Hellbound TV series etc), plus the support from reporter Song Na-yeon (Baek Jin-hee - The Real Has Come TV series etc).

Blades of the Guardians - Very Entertaining Martial Arts Movie with Some Brilliantly Done Fight Sequence

I have been highly anticipating this movie ever since I found out about it more than a month ago. But since it was released while my wife and I were away on holiday, I only got the chance to see it four days after it was available in Indonesia. Without further ado, here's more on the second of our movie marathon day. 

Brief Story Line

Set during the Sui dynasty era, Dao Ma (Wu Jing - Meg 2: The Trench, Wolf Warrior 2 etc) was a well known bounty hunter who himself was actually the second wanted man in the country. One day he was asked by his benefactor, the chief of Moji village Lao Mo (Tony Leung Ka Fai -  Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants, The Lover etc) to escort the most wanted man Zhi Si Lang (Sun Yi Zhou - iPartment series, This is Not What I Expected etc) to Chang'an capital. Despite his reluctance, Dao Ma fulfilled the request and went there together with the child under his protection Xiao Qi, Lao Mo's daughter Ayuya (Opera performer Chen Li Jun) and her bodyguard Ani (Xiong Jin Yi - My Sassy Deskmate TV series etc).

(2026) Crime 101 - A Pretty Well Adaptation of Highly Praised Crime Thriller Novella

After spending a week's vacation out of town, I was in the mood to see films that I missed out while I was away. So yesterday my wife and I decided to have movie marathon and saw two of them in one of our favorite cinemas. Without further ado, here's more on the first film.

Brief Story Line

An intelligent jewel thief who went by the name Mike (Chris Hemsworth - Transformers One, Extraction etc) had been doing various robberies without using violence and always managed to escape via route 101. Detective Lou Lebinsky (Mark Ruffalo - Mickey 17, Dark Waters etc) from LAPD was able to link the robberies done by Mike who he dubbed as lone wolf, although his partner Tillman (Corey Hawkins - 6 Underground, The Color Purple etc) and other colleagues were skeptical about his theory.

(Mini Series) The Art of Sarah - An Intricate and Complex Mystery Thriller Series

Since I was on holiday the past week with my wife, I only got the chance to watch things on streaming service when I was back at hotel at night. After completing different series earlier on Netflix, I opted to watch another one that I thought sounded interesting. It was actually released exactly last week but I only started to watch three nights ago and completed it last night after I returned home. All right then, let us get into the series now.

Brief Story Line

When the body of a young woman was found in the sewer, Detective Park Mu-gyeong (Lee Joon-hyuk - Mercy for None mini series, The Roundup: No Way Out etc) was assigned to investigate the case. After re-checking, I came to conclusion that it was only available in the US. To my surprise, three days ago it was finally released in Indonesia and I got the chance to watch it yesterday. Plus it looked to have an interesting premise. Anyway once it was released yesterday, I started watching and finished it today. OK, let's get right on it now.

When a mysterious masked influencer called the Witch Baba started to give prediction of people dying, no one really believed until it became a reality as a famous influencer was shot by Detective Chen Chia-jen (Ekin Cheng - Young and Dangerous movies, The Twins Effect etc) in front of police station. Another well known influencer You Tzi (Singer/Rapper Shou Lo - I am the Secret in Your Heart, Organ Child etc) was upset and made it a major issue by blaming Chia-jen for his friend's shooting.

(TV SERIES) The 'Burbs Season 1 - Reimagining Adaptation of the Cult Classic of 1989 Movie with the Same Title

As I was looking for something new to watch last night, I came across this brand new series from Peacock that was released on HBO Max. It looked like fun so I did not hesitate to give it a try immediately and just finished the whole season today. All right then, why don't I get right on it.

(2025) Wildcat - A Disappointing Action Thriller Movie with Only the Action Sequence Worth Watching

Last week, this action thriller was released in Indonesia together with other movies that I already set my eyes on. It was not something that I was too interested in, but as I got spare time yesterday, I decided to give it a try by myself since I was not sure my wife would enjoy it. Anyway the movie played in quite a lot of cinemas in Jakarta, including the one just walking distance from my home. OK, I'll just get on with it then.

When Bradley Preston (Dylan O'Brien - Love and Monsters, The Maze Runner trilogy etc) was appointed as new CEO, Linda who was supported by one of the executive Franklin (Dennis Haysbert - No Exit, 24 TV series etc), was hoping to get her promised promotion, though it never materialized. 

(2026) 96 Minutes - Rather Bland for a Supposedly Intense Action Thriller Movie

I saw this film promoted in the Coming Soon of Netflix and was interested after reading the brief synopsis. But somehow I missed when it was released on Thursday, so I only watched it yesterday. All right then, let's just get on with it now.

Song Kang Ren (Austin Lin - The Knight of Shadows: Between Yin and Yang, Women in Taipei TV series etc), a former bomb disposal expert was returning home with his fiancée Huang Xin (Vivian Sung - Till We Meet Again, Adrift in Love TV series etc) and his mother (Lu Hsueh-Feng) using a high speed train. His journey was interrupted when he was informed by his former superior Li Jie (Lee Lee-Zen - The Black Box, The Kidnappers TV series etc) that there was a bomb threat on the train which would detonate in 96 minutes from the time it departed the station. Though Li Jie suspected it might be just prank call, he still requested A-ren's help due to something on the message. To avoid panic, they decided not to tell anyone except the train employees.

(Mini Series) Wonder Man - Character Driven Drama Series About a Person with Super Power in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Two days ago, this latest super hero series set in Marvel Cinematic Universe was released on Disney+. To my surprise, all episodes were made available on the same day instead of the weekly one episode release. So I immediately started to watch on that day and finished it last night. So he tried his best to get into the audition without his agent's knowledge.

I noticed this movie promoted by Prime Video few days ago and was immediately excited when I saw the two lead stars and the action comedy genre. So when the film was finally released yesterday and as soon as I was available, I immediately watched it. All right then, let's just get on with it.

Brief Story Line

Navy SEAL Colonel James Hale (Dave Bautista - My Spy: The Eternal City, Stuber etc) had been living in Hawaii all his life with his wife Leila (Roimata Fox - Chief of War mini series etc) and their two young children. Meanwhile his half brother Jonny (Jason Momoa - A Minecraft Movie, Dune etc) had been working as police detective in Oklahoma and in relationship with Valentina (Morena Baccarin - Greenland 2: Migration, Deadpool & Wolverine etc). James and Jonny had not spoken with each other for many years, but everything changed when their father became victim of hit and run which both of them suspected foul play. Despite the warning from Detective Sergeant Karl Rennet (Stephen Root - Heads of State, Barry TV series etc) not to interfere, James and Jonny investigated the incident by themselves.

(2026) Shelter - A Gritty and Entertaining Action Thriller

Last week, this film had advance ticket sale in Indonesia. Since my wife and I are big fans of Jason Statham who starred in the movie, we did not even hesitate or read the synopsis to decide on buying tickets for today's show. All right then, let us get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Mason (Jason Statham - A Working Man, The Beekeeper etc) had been living in recluse for many years in a small island near Scotland where he got his necessities delivered every now and then by young girl named Jessie (Bodhi Rae Breathnach - Hamnet, So Akward Academy TV series etc) and her uncle. Due to some reasons, Jessie ended up staying with Mason for a while.

Unfortunately Mason's past caught up with him as a group of people assigned by Loretta (Naomie Ackie - The End of the F***ing World TV series, I Wanna Dance With Somebody etc) were trying to capture him. Things gotten worse for Mason when Loretta's former boss Menafort (Bill Nighy - Harlan Coben's Lazarus mini series, Role Play etc) instructed the assassin with code name Workman (stuntman Bryan Vigier) to kill him. Mason had no choice but to escape from those people while trying to get Jessie to safety.

(Mini Series) STEAL - An Unconventional but Interesting Heist Thriller Series

I was not aware the existence of this series till it was made available in Prime Video three days ago. Due to its intriguing premise, I immediately gave it a try on that same day and finished it the following day. OK then, I'll just head on with the series.

Zara Dunne (Sophie Turner - Do Revenge, Game of Thrones TV series etc) was working at a large investment firm in London that managed numerous accounts from various sources including pension fund. One day a group of people who used nicknames such as London (Jonathan Slinger - A Knight's Tale, Paradox etc), Sniper (Andrew Howard - The Outpost TV series, Taken 3 etc) and several others came to Zara's office and threaten the employees at gun point. They instructed Zara and her colleague Luke (Archie Madekwe - Gran Turismo, Midsommar etc) to transfer large cash out from their firm and left the office building before the police arrived. 

(2026) Mercy - A Suspenseful and Intense Sci-Fi Action Thriller Movie

This movie was made available for advance ticket sale last week. Since my wife and I were available this week, we decided to buy the tickets for yesterday's show. It has been a while since we did such thing, so it felt pretty fun, especially since we saw this in the afternoon with very few people in the studio. OK then, let's just get on with it.

Brief Story Line

Set in the near future in Los Angeles where crime rate was very high, the government decided to create a Justice System called Mercy using Artifical Intelligence to decide whether a suspect was guilty or innocent by using evidence and facts acquired from all possible venues. The system also act as Judge, Jury and Executioner and was a huge success, reducing crime for the past two years.

This brand new series was made available on HBO Max I think on 15 January, though I only started watching two days ago and finished it last night. It had a very interesting premise that made me wanted to give it a try immediately. Without further ado, here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in the year 1977 in Moscow, Russia during the peak of cold war where CIA and KGB were fighting against each other through various espionage means. Beatrice Grant (Emilia Clarke - Secret Invasion mini series, Me Before You etc) and Twila Hasbeck (Haley Lu Richardson - Five Feet Apart, The White Lotus season 2 etc) were wives of CIA agents who posed themselves as secretaries in the US Embassy. However their lives completely changed when both their husbands were killed in suspicious circumstances and Bea & Twila insisted to find out what actually happened.

Unexpected Family - A Wonderful Drama Movie with Jackie Chan's Amazing Performance in a Completely Diferent Role

When the trailer to this film was shown few weeks ago, my wife and I were interested to see as it starred one of our beloved actor Jackie Chan. Despite knowing that it would be a drama movie instead of the usual action comedy, we still wanted to watch it as we never missed any of his recent movies. OK, I will just get on with it now.

Brief Story Line

Zhong Bu Fan (Peng Yu Chang - Viva La Vida, I Am Nobody TV series etc) came to Wuhan for personal reasons with very little money. He ended up working for a car wash place owned by Jia Ye (Pan Bi Long - Born to Fly, Battle of Shangganling TV series etc) and was provided a place to stay. Apparently the house was owned by Ren Ji Qing (Jackie Chan - The Shadow's Edge, Hidden Strike etc) who was suffering from early Alzheimer disease and mistakenly thought Bu Fan as his son.

(Mini Series) Agatha Christie's Seven Dials - A Pretty Entertaining Adaptation of Lesser Known Agatha Christie's Characters

This series was already promoted by Netflix for quite some time and being major fan of Agatha Christie's novels, I would not want to miss another adaptation from her works. So when it was finally released yesterday, I immediately gave it a try and finished it last night. All right then, let's just get on with it.

In the year 1925, Lady Caterham (Helena Bonham Carter - Enola Holmes 2, Ocean's 8 etc) and her daughter Lady Eileen aka Bundle (Mia McKenna-Bruce - Vampire Academy TV series, How to Have Sex etc) hosted a gathering at the request of Sir Oswald Coote (Mark Lewis Jones - Apostle, Gangs of London TV series etc) and Lady Maria Coote (Dorothy Atkinson - Pennyworth TV series, Saltburn etc).
