Way Down - A Pretty Interesting Movie of Bank Heist During Soccer World Cup

Somehow I missed out on this movie that was released few days ago and only realized it on Friday. Yesterday though my wife and I finally got the chance to see this one. It only played in one cinema chain but it happened to be shown in one of the theater not far from our home. OK, let's get it on.

Brief Story Line

Thom (Freddie Highmore - The Good Doctor TV series, The Spiderwick Chronicles etc) was a genius engineer who was doubtful about his future and was recruited to join a group of people led by Walter, a wealthy owner of salvaging company. Walter (Liam Cunningham - 24 Hours to Live etc).  Walter was planning to do a heist on Bank of Spain during the soccer World Cup of 2010.

(TV SERIES) The Files of Young Kindaichi 2022 - The Fifth Live Adaptation of the Popular Manga Series

I noticed about this series few weeks ago while I was looking for new show and movies in Disney+. As I am a sucker for mystery/detective series, plus I was quite familiar with the name, obviously this became my to watch list. I waited till the whole season was released and started watching since few days ago. All right, let's get to it then.

Brief Story Line

Story focused on a 17 year old high school student named Hajime Kindaichi (Shunsuke Michieda - 461 Days of Bento, My Love Mix-Up! TV series etc) who was very intelligent but lazy at school. He was very close to his childhood friend Nanase Miyuki (Moka Kamishiraishi - Soromon no gishô TV series etc) who had a crush on him. Together with another student named Ryuta Saki (Taisho Iwasaki - The High School Heroes TV series etc), they were involved in various murder mysteries that require the brilliance of Kindaichi to solve.

When this movie was promoted by certain cinema chains in Indonesia, my wife and I wanted to see it as we are both fans of the manga and anime series it was based on. This movie was finally released few days ago and to our surprise, it was playing in all major cinemas in Indonesia which gave us more options. So yesterday we went ahead and saw this one in the theater not far from our home. Well, I'll get right to it then.

Brief Synopsis

Conan Edogawa (Minami Takanawa) was involved in the case of a serial bomber who tried to attack the wedding ceremony of Detective Miwako Sato (Atsuko Yuya) and Detective Takagi (Wataru Takagi). As Conan dig deeper, he found out that it was related to the past incident involving Sato and the bomb squad.

The Gray Man - An Entertaining Movie Filled with Nonstop Explosive & High Octane Action Sequence

After being promoted by Netflix's social media for few weeks, I was looking forward to see this movie once it was released last night. Without hesitation as it has some major names starring in it, I immediately watched this one once I got the chance yesterday evening. OK, let's get to it.

Brief Story Line

Six (Ryan Gosling - First Man, Blade Runner 2049 etc) was part of the CIA's program led by Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton - Bad Santa, Fargo TV series etc) that convert ex criminal into a mercenary. After an assignment from one of the CIA chief Denny Carmichael (Regé-Jean Page - Bridgerton TV series etc) and his trusted agent Brewer (Jessica Henwick - Underwater, The Matrix Resurrections  etc), Six was somehow being hunted by the CIA.

Till Death - Quite Interesting Thriller with a bit Diabolical Plot

After being released for more than a week, I finally watched this movie on HBO Go. Not that I was not interested, but more towards waiting for the right time as it was already in my to watch list. Well anyway, let's get started then.

Brief Story Line

To celebrate their 11th anniversary, Emma (Megan Fox - Night Teeth, Jennifer's Body etc) and her husband Mark (Eoin Macken - La Brea TV series, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter etc) went to a secluded lake house and spend the night there. 

Unfortunately for Emma, she woke up the next day being handcuffed to her dead husband. And to make matters worse, there were a couple of criminals Bobby Ray (Callan Mulvey - Bleeding Steel, Children of the Corn etc) and Jimmy (Jack Roth) who came to the lake house with their own agenda.

(TV SERIES) Resident Evil Season 1 - Despite Major Alterations, Still Interesting Series of the Fight Against Zombies & Umbrella Corporations in Resident Evil Universe

I almost missed out on this series and only realized it a day after its release. But as I was finishing up another series earlier, I just started it on Friday night and completed it yesterday. It was based on popular video games and have been adapted into several movies in the past which I liked. OK, will go straight to it now.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in two "timelines" with the present year 2036 where the T-virus have spread all over the world infecting billions of people who became zombies and the year 2022 before it happened. In the present, Jade Wesker (Ella Balinska - Charlie's Angels 2019 version etc) was looking for clues and ways for humans to co-exist with the zombies, while being hunted by the Umbrella Corporation led by Evelyn Marcus (Paola Núñez - Bad Boys for Life etc).

(Mini Series) Ms. Marvel - The Origin Story of First Muslim Superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After playing for few weeks, I started to watch this series 3 days ago and completed it last night when the finale was released on Disney+. As usual, I would not be missing out on Marvel's superhero series even if I was not familiar with the hero at all. Well OK, why don't I just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) was a New Jersey high school girl and really big fan of Avengers, in particular Captain Marvel. She was living with her parents Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur - Hostages TV series etc) & Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff - The Big Sick etc) and her older brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh). In school, Kamala was best friends with the genius Bruno (Matt Lintz - Pixels etc) and the progressive Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher - Upside-Down Magic etc). Later she also got close to a new boy named Kamran (Rish Shah).

I have seen the trailer to this series few times in the coming soon section of Netflix and was interested in giving it a try. I started watching it on Saturday night and managed to finish last night as it only had 6 episodes. All right, let's get to it then.

Brief Story Line

When a notorious serial killer Simon Lago (Luis Callejo) was captured by the police on Christmas eve, he was taken to Baruca, a prison that also treat psychiatric prisoners. Hugo (Alberto Ammann), the warden who was supposed to be spending the night with his children were called in to properly accept the prisoner. Meanwhile some of the prisoners in Baruca also had their own agenda, including the feared Cherokee (Daniel Albaladejo).

Thor: Love and Thunder - A Hilarious Comedy Superhero Movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After playing few days in the theaters, my wife and I finally saw this one yesterday as the timing to see it in our favorite Dolby Atmos theater during weekdays was not suitable for us. I insisted on going to the cinema with such sound system as it is quite rare nowadays to have movies released in Indonesia having that sound effect. OK, why don't I go straight to the movie then.

Brief Story Line

After the events of Avengers: End Game, Thor (Chris Hemsworth - Spiderhead, Bad Times at El Royale etc) who joined Guardians of the Galaxy for some time, decided to go on separate ways when he heard about some imminent danger threatening the Gods. Together with his friend Krogg (Taika Waititi - Free Guy etc) they found out that it was Gorr (Christian Bale - Ford v Ferrari, Vice etc) who had been on a personal vendetta on the Gods and killing them.

The Valet - An Enjoyable Comedy Movie with Some Nice Family Drama

I did not realize about this new movie playing on Disney+ till few days ago. I was immediately interested in watching it after looking at the poster, even without knowing the premise. But, as I was finalizing another new series, I only got the chance to watch this one last night. So, here's more on the movie.

Joe Origins, Guns Akimbo etc) was a very famous actress who was always being followed by paparazzi and did not want them to find out that she was actually seeing someone. Unfortunately, her secret was almost out which could ruin her image. To avoid the disaster, she was advised to pretend dating a valet named Antonio Flores (Eugenio Derbez - Dora and the Lost City of Gold, How to be a Latin Lover etc).

I noticed this new series released on Prime Video few days ago and was intrigued by it, despite having no idea on the premise. But seeing the quite well known lead stars certainly increased my interest. So I started watching it on Sunday and finished it last night. OK, so let's get started then.

James Reece (Chris Pratt - Jurassic World Dominion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 etc) was a Navy SEAL commander and leader of Alpha platoon who have been assigned to capture a dangerous terrorist. After playing in theaters for few days, my wife and I finally went to see this movie in the theater near our home yesterday. We decided to do it on Saturday as we were unable to make it due to conflicting schedule during the weekdays. OK, let's get to the movie now.

Brief Story Line

Set in the year 1976, the world was being terrorized by a group of super villains called Vicious Six that included among others the leader Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin - Spenser Confidential, The Kominsky Method TV series etc) and Belle Bottom (Taraji P.
