(TV SERIES) Reboot - A Mystery Thriller Series With Multiple Plot Twists Which Should Please Fans of Such Attributes

As I said in my recent posts there were a lot of new series and movies on Netflix in the past week that interest me. This Japanese series had all its episodes released in one go just last Tuesday with a rather cryptic but sounded intriguing premise. So I decided to give it a try 3 nights ago and managed to finish it the day after. OK now, let's just head to the series.

Brief Story Line

Hayase Riku (Kenichi Matsuyama - Death Note, 1 Litre of Tears TV series etc) was a pattisier whose wife had been missing for 2.5 years and had to raise his young son together with his mother (Mieko Harada - Viral Hit TV series etc). When the body of his wife was found dead, police detective Gidou (Ryohei Suzuki - City Hunter, Segodon TV series etc) was assigned to investigate the case. Unfortunately for Hayase, the police suspected him for the murder.

Husbands in Action - A Light and Fun Enough Action Comedy Though not the Most Memorable Movie

This week had been a joy for Netflix subscribers like me with so many interesting new movies and series which made me spend the past few days just finishing them one by one. On Friday night, I watched this South Korean film that was just released on the same day. It has a seemingly light & fun premise which was exactly what I was looking for after completing a suspenseful series. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

Hwang Choong-sik (Jin Seon-kyu - Uprising, Space Sweepers etc) was a narcotics detective who had been eyeing to stop the distribution of drugs by the group of drug dealers led by Do-jun (Kim Ji-seok - The Sleepless, When The Camellia Blooms TV series etc) and his intelligent wife Hye-ran (Lee Da-hee - S Line TV series, The Divorce Insurance  etc). However his mission brought danger to his ex-wife Si-nae (Kang Han-na - Ca$hero TV series, Empire of Lust etc) and their daughter who were kidnapped.

(Mini Series) I Will Find You - A Different Kind of Harlan Coben's Novel Adaptation with More Suspense, Thrilling and Fast Paced

After watching a new movie on Netflix two nights ago, I continued with a brand new series made available on that same day. It has a really intriguing premise and with the name Harlan Coben attached, made me even more interested. All right then, let's get right on it.

Brief Story Line

Former law professor David Burroughs (Sam Worthington - Avatar: Fire and Ash, The Hunter's Prayer etc) was sentenced to life imprisonment after found guilty of murdering his young child Sam. Five years later, David's sister in-law Rachel Mills (Britt Lower - Severance TV series, Darkest Miriam etc) showed him something that might prove Sam could still be alive. Determined to do whatever it takes, David went to the extreme to find Sam with the help from his childhood best friend Adam (Jonathan Tucker - Echoes mini series, Hostage etc), Rachel and her ex-boyfriend Hayden (Milo Ventimiglia - Creed 2, Gilmore Girls TV series etc).

Per Aspera Ad Astra - A Visually Stunning Space Adventure Sci-Fi Movie With Some Greatly Done Special Effects

Last night I was searching for new things to watch on various streaming services and came across this film on Netflix that was released the day before. I never knew of its existence previously but seeing the synopsis and the lead star, I was immediately intrigued. So without hesitation, I immediately gave it a try. OK, let's dive right into it then.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in the future where space travels were quite common and a lot of missions were done towards distant planets which would take many years to reach. During these travels, the crew were put in deep sleep but were able to live and control their dreams using technology called LM developed by Sweet Dreams Corporation. During a long mission on Mengya interstellar ship, a coder from Sweet Dreams named Xu Tianbao (Dylan Wang - Light to the Night TV series, I Dreamed a Dream etc) had awakened from his sleep earlier and later saw an explosion on certain part of the ship.

The Furious - A Brilliantly Done Full Action Movie With Truly Well Executed Fight Choreography that Should Satisfy Fans of Such Genre

I was hoping to see this movie in my favorite studio with large screen and great sound system. Unfortunately when it premiered yesterday, the film did not play there at all. I was thinking of seeing it on following days, however after discussing with my wife, we decided to just see it immediately after another movie earlier. It was very very rush but somehow we were able to make it just in time for the next show at a different location. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

Story was set somewhere in South East Asia where a group of young children had been missing for quite some time. A journalist named Matia (Jeeja Yanin - Triple Threat, Tom Yum Goong 2 etc) was trying to uncover the truth but somehow ended up missing herself. While investigating her disappearance, Matia's husband Navin (Joe Taslim - Mortal Kombat II, The Night Comes for Us etc) found access to some child traffickers who he believed to be responsible.

Toy Story 5 - Another Win for Disney Pixar with a Relevant Story to the Recent Condition

When I saw there was going to be another Toy Story movie, I was kind of surprised as I thought it's already concluded. But since I love their films, I did not hesitate to see this latest one in the cinema. It was available for advance ticket sale since last week, so my wife and I bought them for yesterday's show. All right then, why don't I just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

After the events of Toy Story 4, Bonnie (Scarlett Spears - General Hospital TV series etc) was still playing with her toys who were now led by newly appointed Sheriff Jessie (Joan Cusack - Working Girl, Nine Months etc) and her Deputy Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen - The Santa Clause, Last Man Standing TV series etc). When Bonnie's parents bought her a new tablet called Lilypad, Jessie was worried that the tablet Lily (Greta Lee - Tron: Ares, The Morning Show TV series etc) would make Bonnie completely ignore the toys. 

Disclosure Day - The Return of Steven Spielberg to the Alien Genre Albeit in a Less Action Approach

This was another movie that was released mid of the week in Indonesia. I never saw its trailer before and had no idea of what the film was about, but the name Steven Spielberg and the genre alien was enough to make me wanted to see it. So yesterday my wife and I went to the studio not far from our home. It was a sudden change of plan cause my favorite cinema stopped playing the film after just 2 days. Anyway let us dive into it now.

Daniel Kellner (Josh O'Connor - Wake Up Dead Man: A Knive's Out Mystery, The Mastermind etc) was a cybersecurity expert working for an organization within the US government. He somehow found out information about aliens which he wanted to share the world. However Daniel's plan was disrupted when his boss Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth - Young Sherlock TV series, Mary Poppins Returns etc) was aware and tried to capture him and his girlfriend Jane (Eve Hewson - The Perfect Couple mini series, Flora and Son etc) to avoid having chaos around the world. 

Backrooms - A Horror Sci-fi Movie that Felt More Like an Extended Episode from Its Web Series

This week there were 3 new Western movies released in Indonesian cinemas which were interesting. As I was busy on Wednesday, I only got the chance to see 1 of them yesterday. Although it was categorized as horror film, I was intrigued since it was highly rated by a lot of people. But I decided to see this by myself just in case it was too scary for my wife. All right I'll just get right to it then.

Brief Story Line

Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor - The Old Guard 2, Doctor Strange etc) was the owner of a struggling furniture store who was having problem dealing with his failed marriage and alcohol addiction. He was seeing a psychiatrist Dr. Mary Kline (Renate Reinsve - Presumed Innocent TV series, Sentimental Value etc) to help him cope with his issues.

(2026) Over Your Dead Body - Amusing & Fun Action Comedy English Remake of Popular Norwegian Hit Movie

Yesterday I got notification from Prime Video about the release of a new movie. It was kind of surprising as I was not aware there would be one yesterday. But after finding out more info, apparently it was not a brand new film, rather something that was only made available via streaming. Anyway the premise sounded really fun which made me immediately leave what I was watching to give this a try. OK let's just get on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Washed up director Dan Burton (Jason Segel - Windfall, Shrinking TV series etc) had been married for several years with Lisa (Samara Weaving - Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, The Valet etc), an actress trying to find her big break. Their marriage was so terrible that they could no longer stand one another and secretly planned to murder each other during a weekend holiday trip to the cabin owned by Dan's father Michael (Paul Guilfoyle - Colony TV series, Arthur the King etc).

(Mini Series) Teach You A Lesson - A Series About Special Bureau With Unlimited Authority to Improve School System & Discipline Bullies

When this series was released by Netflix few days ago, I was having a short holiday with my wife and only started watching on Saturday night. Surprisingly it took me longer than usual and I just finished the whole series yesterday. Anyway, I'll just get right on with it.

Brief Story Line

After seeing the increase of school violence and teachers losing respects and being targeted by students and parents, the Minister of Education Choi Gang-seok (Lee Sung-min - Handsome Guys, Reborn Rich TV series etc) proposed the establishment of Educational Rights Protection Bureau (ERPB) which was given full authority to discipline students and improve the school system by using any means necessary. Na Hwa-jin (Kim Mu-yeol - The Gangster, The Cop and The Devil, Queen Woo TV series etc) was appointed as the Inspector to visit the schools having problems who was later assisted by another inspector Im Ha-rim (Jin Ki-joo - Land of Happiness, Undercover High School TV series etc) and young civil servant Bong Geun-dae (Pyo Ji-hoon aka P.O -  ).

Adam (Nicholas Galitzine - The Craft: Legacy, Purple Hearts etc) was the Prince of Eternia who was separated from his family since childhood and stranded on earth for years after their planet was attacked by the army of evil warlock Skeletor (Jared Leto - Tron: Ares, Suicide Squad etc) along with his sorceress Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie - Freelance, Community TV series etc). When Adam was finally able to go back to Eternia with the help from his childhood friend Teela (Camila Mendes - Do Revenge, Upgraded etc), he found that the planet was no longer like what he remembered.

Colony - A Different Kind of Zombie Movie Nicely Combined with Sci-Fi Element

I have known about this new South Korean zombie movie that has been promoted for quite some time. Though there was advance ticket sale in Indonesia since last week for today's show, I wanted to wait and see if it's playing in my favorite theater. However an urgent thing came up and I could not go there, so I had to settle seeing this in the cinema near my home. All right then, I'll just get on with the movie.

Se-jeong (Jun Ji-hyun - Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Tempest TV series etc) a professor in biotechnology and her ex-husband Han Gyu-seong (Go Soo - Lucid Dream, Missing: The Other Side TV series etc) were invited to a seminar about biotech held in Dongwoori building. Unfortunately a scientist named Suh Yeong-chol (Koo Kyo-hwan - Escape, We Are All Trying Here TV series etc) decided to release a highly infectious & dangerous virus there, which would turn people into vicious man-eating zombies.
