Jingle Bell Heist - Lack the Charm for A Supposedly Christmas Themed Rom-Com Movie, Though At Least the Heist was Interesting Enough

I was kind of looking forward to this movie when I saw it in the Coming Soon section of Netflix. But when it was released, I did not realized as I was finishing another series and ended up only watching it yesterday. OK then, I'll dive straight into it now.

Brief Story Line

Sophia (Olivia Holt - Totally Killer, Cruel Summer TV series etc) was working as staff for the large Sterling department store in London owned by Maxwell Sterling (Peter Serafinowicz - How to Train Your Dragon live version, John Wick: Chapter 2 etc) and his wife Cynthia (Lucy Punch - A Series of Unfortunate Events TV series, Hot Fuzz etc), though secretly she sometimes would steal from the store. Meanwhile Nick O'Connor (Connor Swindells - Sex Education TV series, William Tell etc) was working in a small IT shop but he had access to the security system of Sterling stores.

A Family Affair - A Romantic Comedy with Interesting Premise that Could be Better with More Charm

After weeks of watching action and drama thriller series, yesterday I was not having any series that need to be completed. So last night I decided to give this new released romantic comedy film on Netflix a try. OK I'll just head to the movie then.

Brief Story Line

Zara (Joey King - Bullet Train, The Princess etc) was a 24 year old woman had been working as the personal assistant to famous movie star Chris Cole (Zac Efron - Ricky Stanicky, Fire Starter etc) for few years. She had been aspiring to be a producer, but had to endure the ridiculous requests from Chris and had no clarity on her future.

Love Reset - An Enjoyable Romantic Comedy Drama Movie

This weekend, I chose to see this latest South Korean movie which was of romantic comedy genre where my wife did not need any convincing at all as she was very familiar with the lead stars. We went to the nearest studio that showed the film and caught the earliest show at 11 AM. All right then, let us get on with it.

Jung-yeol (Kang Ha-neul - The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure, Curtain Call TV series etc) and Hong Nara (Jung So-min - Project Wolf Hunting, Because This is My First Life etc) had been married for years but their relationship was so bad that they decided to file for divorce. The judges who reviewed their request told them to reconsider within 30 days. Unexpectedly though, an accident somehow made them lost their memories.

(2022) Ticket to Paradise - A Pleasing Rom-Com Movie that would Delight Fans of Julia Roberts and George Clooney

After playing in theaters for weeks, finally my wife and I got the chance to see this movie last night. We have been planning to see it even from the first weekend of release but due to so many things, we were unable to do it. Yesterday there was actually a new movie released in theater. However as it was a horror movie which seemed very bad, we decided to see this one instead. OK, I'll get right on it.

David Cotton (George Clooney - The Midnight Sky, Michael Clayton etc) and his ex wife Georgia (Julia Roberts - Eat Pray Love, Erin Brokovich etc) had been divorced for 20 years and always fought whenever they met, but they had a daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever - Last Man Standing TV series, Dear Evan Hansen etc) who they loved very much. When Lily graduated from law school, she decided to go to Bali for summer vacation with her best friend Wren (Billie Lourd - American Horror Stories series etc) before starting work at a major law firm in the US.

Moonshot - A Pleasant Romantic Comedy with Sci-fi Background

Yesterday there was this new movie playing on HBO Go which I was interested in watching as it had simple premise and seemed light and fun. So I gave it a try immediately last night. Well here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in 2049 where living in Mars was possible due to the work by self-made billionaire Leon Kovi (Zach Braff - Cheaper by the Dozen 2022 version etc). A college student named Walt (Cole Sprouse - Five Feet Apart etc) who had been eyeing to go to Mars was feeling frustrated that he could not go.

Love Hard - Lighthearted and Fun Enough Rom-Com to Keep Us Interested

This movie was already released on Netflix since Friday, but somehow it seemed to have eluded me. Only when I was really looking at it that I got intrigued and decided to watch it last night, together with my wife who is a fan of rom-com. Well let's get started then.

He's All That - A Very Light Teen Rom-com Movie and a Gender-Swapped Remake of 1999 Movie

I have been meaning to watch this movie when I noticed the title which seemed familiar to me. Once I read a bit on the premise, I was definitely intrigued to give it a try, especially since it seemed to promise light and fun entertainment. So last night I watched this movie together with my wife who just finished watching a Japanese animation series. OK, let's get this started.

Good On Paper - Not Your Typical Romantic Comedy Movie

As I have been very busy these past weeks, my time of watching movies/series was quite limited. But yesterday I just felt the need to watch something new, fresh and fun. So while browsing through Netflix, I came across this rom-com which seemed to be light and fun enough. Well, let's find out more, shall we?

Brief Story Line

Andrea Singer (Iliza Shlesinger - Spenser Confidential etc) was a 30 something stand-up comedian who felt that her life was not going the way she thought would be. She was irritated with Serrena (Rebecca Rittenhouse - Four Weddings and a Funeral TV series etc) who seemed to always got better gigs in acting, while she herself became comedian. Andrea's best friend Margot (Margaret Cho - Drop Dead Diva TV series etc) had always been encouraging her to not being so salty with life and enjoy what she had.

Last Christmas - A Bit Lacking in Chemistry & Predictable Rom-com Aided by Some Lovely Songs that Fans of George Michael Would Love

My wife and I had been eyeing to see this rom-com Christmas movie with the title that was based on one of the most popular Christmas song and a personal favorite of my wife and mine. It was a bit late for Indonesian audience as it was released only on Friday (around a month after its US and UK release). And sadly it did not play at the reasonable time in the theater near our home, so we only got to see it today. Well let's get on with it now.

Story focused on a young woman named Katarina who referred to herself as Kate (Emilia Clarke - Solo: A Star Wars Story, Terminator Genisys etc), a rather self-pitying person who was working at a Christmas ornaments shop owned by a lady named Santa (Michelle Yeoh - Master Z: Ip Man Legacy, Star Trek Discovery TV series etc). When one day Kate met with a mysterious man named called Tom (Henry Golding - A Simple Favor etc), she felt attracted despite not knowing anything about him.

Mr. Pride vs Miss Prejudice - A Chinese Romantic Comedy Heavy on Comedy Side

As I was waiting for my wife to complete her food tasting event, I had some spare time to use and thought of watching some random movie which might not be available in cable TV. So I did some browsing through the internet and looked for something via online streaming, where I stumbled across this movie. Once I saw the title, I was intrigued and was even more interested to see when I read the very brief synopsis which hinted that it was a romantic comedy and the genre that I have not watched for quite some time. So I decided to see this one.

Brief Story Line

After an incident in a crowded mall, Zhu Hou (Leon Zhang - Fall In Love Like a Star) who was a spoiled rich kid & whose mother was the owner of a very successful lingerie business, accidentally met with Tang Nan Nan (Dilraba Dilmurat - Hot Girl TV series, and cast member of Running Man China). Nan Nan was a struggling online writer who was having a bit of cash flow problem. Due to the incident, she demanded that Zhu Hou be responsible and compensate her. Nan Nan was able to acquire what she wanted through some hilarious moments and soon they parted ways.
