Last week this movie was already having the Advance Ticket Sales program. Since my wife is a major fan of the lead star, obviously she did not want to miss out and immediately purchased two tickets for Friday's show, which was also the first day of its release. So few hours ago we went to see this in the cinema a bit further away from our usual location. OK why don't I get started then?

Brief Story Line

When South Korea was hit with a virus that made people sick and became zombies, Lee Jung-hwan (Jo Jung-suk - Pilot,  Captivating the King TV series etc) and his teenaged daughter Soo-ah (Choi Yoo-ri - The Soul-Mate, Itaewon Class TV series etc) tried to escape from Seoul to the village where Jung-hwan's mother aka Granny (Lee Jung-eun - Light Shop TV series, Hommage etc) lived. Unfortunately Soo-ah got infected and Jung-hwan tried to protect her from being killed by the government.

The Pickup - A Heist Action Comedy Movie that Lacked the Twist and Suspense & not Enough Eddie Murphy

I found out about this latest movie on Prime Video few days ago prior to its release and thought it looked interesting, plus it has Eddie Murphy starring in it. So when it was made available yesterday, I gave it a try last night. Well how was it then? Let's find out more shall we?

(TV SERIES) Creature Commandos Season 1 - A Wonderfully Written Animated Series Focusing on the Weird Metahuman Team from DC Comics

I have been meaning to give this series a try from the time it was released end of last year. But as I was waiting for it to be completed and busy with finishing other series, this became a bit of my least priority. However when it was mentioned that the last Superman movie had a bit of connection with the series, I wanted to revisit it. Last night, I finally set aside my time to watch the whole season on HBO Max. OK, let's just get to it then.

I. Robot who was created with sole purpose of killing Nazis and the mysterious John Doe/Weasel (both voiced by Sean Gunn - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Gilmore Girls TV series etc).

Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy - Not the Kind of Adaptation that Fans of the Web Novel Expected but Still Entertaining Enough for Casual Audience

This movie had been promoted in various Indonesian cinema social media for the past few weeks. While I was intrigued with the premise, my wife was more interested with the famous cast in the film. Although it was released since mid of the week, we only got the chance to see it yesterday. All right then, let's get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Kim Dok-ja (Ahn Hyo-seop - Business Proposal, Dr. Romantic 2 TV series etc) was a normal working man and major fan of apocalyptic fantasy novel titled "Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World". While going home with his co-worker Sang-ah (Chae Soo-bin - Hijack 1971, When the Phone Rings etc), somehow they were transported to the world just like in the novel. Using his complete knowledge of the story, Dok-ja was able to survive the imminent danger by fighting against the monsters and coordinate with other people like the soldier Hyun-sung (Shin Seung-ho - Pilot, Weak Hero Class 1 TV series etc) & the young boy named Eun-son (Lee Gil-young - Citizen of a Kind etc). However his effort to convince the original hero of the novel Joong-hyuk (Lee Min-ho - The Bounty Hunter, Pachinko TV series etc) to cooperate was not that easy.

(2025) The Naked Gun - Legacy Sequel to the Hilarious Comedy Movies that Started from Late 1980s

When I saw this movie's trailer few weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised and was interested in seeing it. However, when it was released three days ago, it was inconvenient for me and my wife to see the film and only got the chance to do so last night. All right, I'll get started then.

Brief Story Line

Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson -  The Ice Road, Retribution etc) was one of the Lieutenant in Police Squad and partnered with Ed Hocken Jr. (Paul Walter Hauser - The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Richard Jewell etc). After closing a bank robbery case, Frank was scolded by Chief Davis (CCH Pounder - The Shield TV series, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones etc) for disregarding the regulations and was assigned to another case. Beth Davenport (Pamela Anderson - Barb Wire, Baywatch TV series etc) who was related to the victim wanted to assist Frank's investigation but was ultimately told to stop.

(Mini Series) Trigger - Thought Provoking Action Thriller Drama that Started Greatly but not Exactly Satisfying in its Conclusion

When this Netflix original series was made available last Friday, I was in the midst of completing another series and seeing new movies in the cinema & on streaming services. So I was a bit late in starting this on Sunday night but managed to finish it yesterday. OK, I'll get on with the series then.

South Korea was widely regarded as one of the safest country due to its prohibition of firearms sale and ownership. So it came as major surprise when Lee Do (Kim Nam-gil - Nocturnal, Island TV series etc), a police officer who had knowledge of guns from his previous time in the special forces was called to check on the findings of some bullets in an unexpected location. 

(TV SERIES) Good Boy - Entertaining Series with Interesting Story and Plenty of Well Executed Action Sequence

I already saw this series promoted in Prime Video many times before, but as usual I wanted to start watching only when it's fully available since it was released 2 episodes per weekend from end of May. Meanwhile my wife did not mind watching while it was still ongoing and after she finished it more than a week ago, she recommended me to give it a try. So I did it from last Wednesday and completed on Sunday night. All right then, let's get on with the series.

Brief Story Line

Yoon Dong-ju (Park Bo-gum - Wonderland, When Life Gives You Tangerines TV series etc) was former boxing gold medalist who became police officer through special recruitment program but always had problems due to his hot headedness. Along with him, there were also Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun -Unforgettable, My Lovely Liar TV series etc) former shooting champion, Kim Jong-hyeon (Lee Sang-yi - ⁠Love in the Big City, Bloodhounds TV series etc) who gained silver medal from fencing and Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok - My Puppy, The player TV series etc) former disc throwing athlete that were part of the similar program. They were led by Captain Go Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae - Crash TV series, Hitman: Agent Jun etc) who was former wrestling medalist several years earlier and jointly formed the Special Crime Investigation unit. 

A Normal Woman - Interesting Idea but Execution Wise not Exactly to My Liking

This new original movie from Netflix that was released last Friday seemed intriguing for me with its brief yet mysterious synopsis. As I went to see a blockbuster film on that night, I only got the chance to watch it yesterday. OK, I'll just get right to it.

The Gunawan family that consisted of housewife Milla (Marissa Anita - Perempuan Tanah Jahanam, Air Mata Buaya etc), her successful husband Jonathan (Dion Wiyoko - Imperfect, Falling in Love Like in Movies etc), their teenaged child Angel (Mima Shafa) and Jon's mother Liliana (Widyawati - Sabar Ini Ujian, Sweet 20 etc) were living together in their large & beautiful house. From the outside they looked like a harmonious family, but Milla was actually having a bit of stress. 

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - An Exciting Addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Once again another movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe was released and available in Indonesia since Wednesday.  As I wanted to see this in the studio with Dolby Atmos system, my wife and I waited for it to be available in our favorite cinema last night. Without further ado, here's more on the movie. 

Brief Story Line

Set in the 1960s, austronauts Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal - The Wild Robot, The Mandalorian TV series etc), his wife Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby - Mission: Impossible - The Dead Reckoning Part One, Napoleon etc) and younger brother Johnny (Joseph Quinn - Gladiator II, Warfare etc) with Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bacrach - No Hard Feelings, The Bear TV series etc) became superheroes known as Fantastic Four after their return from an outer space mission. As they fought plenty of villains for several years such as Mole Man (Paul Walter Hauser - Inside Out 2, Cruella etc) and few others, the four of them became quite well known through out the world.

Wall to Wall - A Simple Yet Intense Thriller Movie

When this movie was released last Friday, I was in the midst of watching another new series on Netflix. So I decided to watch only after I finished that series on Sunday night. My wife who had seen it before thought I would enjoy and should give it a try. All right then, I'll get right on it.

His condition worsened with loud noise inside his unit that constantly disturbed his sleep.

(Mini Series) Untamed - Interesting but Quite Heavy, Dark & Tragic Murder Mystery Drama Series

Last Thursday, this interesting new series was released on Netflix but I did not get the chance to watch it as I went to the cinema with my wife for a new movie. So I only began to watch on Friday and finished it last night. Without further ado, let's get on with the series.

Brief Story Line

When the body of unknown young woman was discovered in the Yosemite National Park in California, special agent Kyle Turner (Eric Bana - Back to the Outback, Troy etc) was called on to investigate. Park Rangers chief Paul Souter (Sam Neill - Jurassic World: Dominion, Dead Calm etc) assigned rookie Naya Vasquez (Lily Santiago - La Brea TV series etc) to partner with Kyle. Behind his cold personality and drinking problem, Kyle was actually a very good investigator and was able to find some clues that would lead to bigger issues.

(2025) I Know What You Did Last Summer - The Fourth Installment in the Movie Series Which Brought Some Nostalgic Feeling but not as Memorable as the Original

I heard about this movie few months ago and got to see glimpses of its trailer two or three weeks ago. The title itself caught my attention as it was one of the many films that were memorable to me during the 1990s. My wife and I tried to see it on its first day of release but due to "logistic" issue, we were only able to do it last night. All right then, let's get on with the movie.

Five friends that consisted of Danica (Madelyn Cline - Outer Banks TV series, This is the Night etc), her fiancé Teddy (Tyriq Withers - Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead 2024 remake etc), their best friends Ava (Chase Sui Wonders - Bodies Bodies Bodies, The Studio TV series etc), Milo (Jonah Hauer-King - The Little Mermaid, World on Fire TV series etc) and Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon - The Wilds TV series etc) were celebrating the fourth of July holiday in their hometown Southport. However they were involved in accident which they tried to hide with the help from Teddy's father, businessman Grant Spencer (Billy Campbell - Mr. & Mrs. Smith TV series, The Brylcreem Boys etc). 

Detective Chinatown 1900 - Not the Best Installment in The Hugely Successful Comedy Mystery Buddy Film Series

When this movie was released in Indonesia some time back, I did not get the chance to see it due to some reasons. So I was obviously delighted when I found out it was going to be released on Netflix. Even though I was in the middle of another series, I decided to watch the film last night once it was available. All right then, let's get on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in San Francisco, USA during the year 1900 where the Chinese population had grown a lot and mostly lived in Chinatown, but still being discriminated by the Americans and other immigrants. The tension escalated when the daughter of US Congressman Grant (John Cusack - Utopia TV series, High Fidelity etc) and a native American were found murdered with Bai Zhenbang (Steven Zhang - My Huckleberry Friends, Skate into Love TV series etc) became the only suspect. Zhenbang's father Bai Xuanling (Chow Yun Fat - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Project Gutenberg etc) believed he was innocent and sought the help from outside party. 

(TV SERIES) Ballard Season 1 - A Well Made Police Procedural Drama Set in Bosch Universe

As I was browsing through various streaming platforms mid of last week, I came across this new series that looked interesting on Prime Video. I decided to give it a try on Thursday night and was able to finish it on Saturday. Without further ado, here's more on the series.

After years of hearing about this movie, finally it was released in various countries including Indonesia this week. My wife and I wanted to see it on its first day but our favorite cinema was having movie premiers for two days in a row and we only got the chance to see it last night. Superman (David Corenswet - Twisters 2024, Lady in the Lake mini series etc) had been saving the world for many years and was loved & admired by the people. As his secret identity Clark Kent, he was working for Daily Planet with reporter Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan - The Amateur, Patriots Day etc) and Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo - The RIghteous Gemstones TV series etc). Sometimes Superman would coordinate with Justice Gang that consisted of Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Cars 3 etc), Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi - StartUp TV series etc) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced - Alien: Romulus, Dora and the Lost City of Gold etc) to fight against various enemies.

I found out yesterday there was a new movie released on Netflix which intrigued me due to its premise. Even though I was in the middle of another new series, I paused it just to watch this film last night. All right then, let's find out more shall we?

Jurassic World: Rebirth - Another Entertaining New Installment on the Jurassic Park Movie Series

As major fans of the Jurassic movies, my wife and I definitely would not want to miss seeing this in the cinema. We decided to see it in our favorite studio which almost never disappoint me with its Dolby Atmos sound system yesterday. OK, let's just get started.

As the dinosaurs were having trouble adjusting in the current climate and started dying, most of them now living in islands across the Equator prohibited for visit by the governments due to its danger. Though reluctant at first, Zora finally agreed to the assignment and were later joined by paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey - Wicked, Bridgerton TV series etc), her former army friend & boat owner Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali - Leave the World Behind, Marvel's Luke Cage TV series etc) and few crew members.

(Mini Series) Ironheart - A Surprisingly Heavier than Expected Marvel Series

This mini series was first released mid of last week and I thought it would continue for next few weeks till its completion. But then I read all episodes were already available on 1st of July. Apparently Disney+ decided to release 3 episodes twice which was pretty unusual. Since I do not like to watch ongoing series, I was quite pleased that I could start watching this so soon. After the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne - Freaky Tales etc) decided to return to her hometown in Chicago, bringing back the ironsuit she created in MIT. Though surprised, Riri's mother Ronnie (Anji White - season 4 Fargo TV series etc) still welcomed her with open arms. With her desire to enhance the iron suit, Riri had no choice but to join a group of criminals led by Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos - Twisters, A Star is Born etc) to acquire some much needed cash. After their first job, Riri felt uneasy and started to doubt if working for Parker was a good decision. However she was worried of his power and tried to find out more on it, which was obviously a dangerous thing.

Heads of State - A Very Fun Action Comedy With Nice Chemistry of Its Lead Stars

I said in my previous post that there were two movies released in different streaming platforms on Wednesday. Though I was interested in this film which was released on Prime Video, I opted to watch the other one first and only see it last night. All right then, why don't I just get to it?

Meanwhile Sam Clarke (Idris Elba - Sonic the Hedgehog 3, The Dark Tower etc) was the British Prime Minister and also an army veteran who disliked Will as he believed him only using popularity and did not really have political ability. The Old Guard 2 - A Rather Disappointing Sequel that Was Just a Filler for a Yet Confirmed Third Movie

Yesterday was kind of unusual for Netflix to release a new major movie since they normally would do it on Friday. I think it has got to do with its competitor releasing their own original as well on the same day (which made me a bit upset cause I had to choose which one to see first). Ultimately I decided to see this film cause I was already excited about seeing the action once again. OK let's get to it then.

M3GAN 2.0 - A Completely Different Kind of Sequel to that Sci-fi Horror Hit

As second of our movie marathon day, we saw this one together with one of my wife's nephew who happened to accompany us during that day. It was a film that was making some headline as the sequel to critically & quite commercially acclaimed hit back in 2022. All right then, let's get on with it.

Two years after the event of the first movie, Cady (Violet McGraw - The Life of Chuck, Jett TV series etc) was still a bit traumatized & having a bit of trouble fitting in. F1 - Wonderfully Done Sports Drama that Would Entertain Even The Non-Fan

Three days ago this Hollywood film was released in Indonesia along with another one that were both interesting to me. Since yesterday was public holiday, my wife and I decided to have another one of our movie marathon. I have set my mind to see this in the studio with Dolby Atmos system since I was sure it would be more satisfying. All right then, let's get on with the movie.

(TV SERIES) We Were Liars Season 1 - Interesting Enough Teen Drama Which Felt More Like Soap Opera than Psychological Thriller

I read somewhere about this newly released 8 episode series on Prime Video that I think critics were quite raving. The classification of psychological thriller and having brief yet intriguing synopsis made me quite interested. So I decided to give the series a try starting from last Thursday and finished on Saturday. All right then, why don't I just get on it.

The series focused on the large really wealthy family of Sinclairs that consisted of the parents Harris (David Morse - Double Vision, Disturbia etc) and his wife Tipper (Wendy Crewson - The Kid Detective, On the Basis of Sex etc) with their three daughters, the eldest Carrie (Mamie Gummer - Emily Owens, M.D. TV series etc, Out of Blue etc), the middle Penny (Caitlin FitzGerald - Masters of Sex TV series, Lost on a Mountain in Maine etc) and the youngest Bess (Candice King - The Vampire Diaries TV series, After We Collided etc). Every summer, they would all gather in Beechwood island where the Sinclair sisters brought along their children to spend holidays there. While Penny was divorced and Bess' husband was always busy, only Carrie who always came with her partner Ed Patil (Rahul Kohli - Death and Other Details TV series, The Life of Chuck etc).

As my wife and I would not be able to see any movies this weekend since we would be going out of town, we decided to watch this new film yesterday on its first day of release. It was very convenient for us as it played in the cinema walking distance from our home, so we could make it just nicely after I came back from work. OK, let's just get to it then.

After finding out about an expedition space ship to find life outside earth, Elio had been trying to make himself abducted by aliens so he could live with them. Hi-Five - Hilarious Comedy Action Superhero Movie Perfect for Stress Relief and for Fun

I saw the trailer to this movie once few weeks back and thought it looked like fun. And my wife who is major fan of South Korean dramas & films would love to see it. So when it was released on Friday, we set our schedule for another movie marathon on Saturday, which frankly was a bit challenging due to the inconvenient timing in our favorite theaters. Luckily there was one cinema whose schedule was quite nice for us to see two movies. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

A group of people just received organ transplantation which somehow gave them unexpected power. They consisted of high school girl Wan-seo (Lee Jae-in - Hard Hit, Night Has Come TV series etc), screenwriter Park Ji-sung (Ahn Jae-hong - Rebound, LTNS TV series etc), unemployed man Hwang Ki-dong (Yoo Ah-in - Seoul Vibe, Hellbound TV series etc), fresh delivery lady Kim Sun-nyeo (Ra Mi-ran - Miss & Mrs Cops, Cold Blooded Intern TV series etc) and factory manager Huh Yak-sun (Kim Hee-won - Project Silence, Han River Police TV series etc). Determined to do good deeds, they started to help people using their powers despite their obvious inexperience and constant bickering between Ji-sung and Ki-dong.

I have known about this film for quite some time, but it was not something that I was truly excited about, although it was part of the summer movie list that obviously I would love to see. So when it was finally released this Wednesday, my wife and I decided to have another movie marathon as there was another film that we wanted to give a try. OK, without further ado, here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

In the Viking village called Berk, the villagers had to fight against continuous dragon attacks as they frequently stole their live stocks. Hiccup (Mason Thames - The Black Phone etc) the son of Berk's chief Stoick (Gerard Butler - Den of Thieves 2, Plane etc) was training under blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost - The Nevers TV series, Hot Fuzz etc) since he was thought to be weak in nature, although he always wanted to kill dragons to make his father proud. During one of the night's attack by dragons, Hiccup was convinced he had shot the most dangerous and unknown dragon, Night Fury though no body trusted him.

(2025) Deep Cover - A Fun British Comedy With a Bit of Action

I forgotten that this movie was going to be released on Thursday in Prime Video and only got the chance to watch it yesterday. It was something that interest me due to its seemingly fun premise, so I was quite eager to find out if it's really as I expected. All right then, let's get to it.

Brief Story Line

Kat Boyles (Bryce Dallas Howard - Argylle, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom etc) had been trying to become successful stand up comedian for years but found chances were slim and ended up working as improv coach in small club. When Detective Sergeant Billings (Sean Bean - Knights of the Zodiac, The Lord of the Rings trilogy etc) offerred her to work undercover for low level sting, Kat was interested as it provided some needed cash. However she would require two more people as support, so she enlisted the help from small time actor Marlon Swift (Orlando Bloom - Gran Turismo, Unlocked etc) and Hugh, an IT guy who was trying to improve his social skills.

(MINI SERIES) Mercy For None - Thrilling Series Full of Brilliant Fight Scenes

Although this series was put under the Coming This Week section in Netflix, I was a little bit hesitant to watch as I thought the premise was pretty standard and there was not a lot of hype about it. But since I just finished another series and was not sure what to watch next, I decided to give it a try on Friday night, a day after its release and managed to complete the whole series yesterday. OK, let's find out more then, shall we?

Brief Story Line

Nam Gi-jun (So Ji-sub - Alienoid: Return to the Future, Oh My Venus TV series etc) used to work for the two largest gangs in Seoul, i.e. Joowon led by Lee Joo-woon (Heo Joon-ho - Dark Nuns, Bloodhounds etc) and Bongsan led by Gu Bong-san (Ahn Gil-kang - Sweet & Sour, A Shop for Killers TV series etc). After a major incident 11 years before, Gi-jun left the organization and became normal person, while his younger brother Gi-seok (Lee Joon-hyuk - The Firefighters, Our Beloved Summer TV series etc) became second in command in Joowon since Mr. Lee's only son Geum-son (Choo Young-woo - Oasis, Trauma Code TV series etc) worked as a Prosecutor. On the other hand, Bong-san's only son Jun-mo (Gong Myung - Extreme Job, Be Melodramatic TV series etc) who was supposed to take over the Bongsan organization was making a lot of trouble that worried his father.

(2025) Ballerina - An Enjoyable Addition to the John Wick Expanding Universe

After the announcement of this spin off to the John Wick universe, I was really excited to see what would be in store. So when it was finally released few days ago, I already set plan to watch the movie yesterday as it happened to be public holiday in Indonesia. Without further ado, let's get right on it.

Brief Story Line

Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas - Ghosted, No Time to Die etc) had been training to become a ballerina assassin with Ruska Roma led by its Director (Anjelica Huston - Prizzi's Honor, The Addams Family etc) for many years as she wanted to get revenge to the killing of her father. In one of the nights living in the head quarter, she encountered for the first time John Wick (Keanu Reeves - Sonic the Hedgehog 3, The Matrix movies etc) and was given brief advice on this dangerous life. 

(TV SERIES) Nine Puzzles - A Pretty Enjoyable Mystery Crime Thriller Disney+ Original Series

I noticed this series in the coming soon section of Disney+ few months back and thought the premise seemed interesting. When I found out that the finale was going to be released on 4th of June, I immediately began to watch it two days before, so I would be able to complete the series on that day. All right then, let's just get to it.

Brief Story Line

An excellent Seoul Criminal Profiler Yoon E-na (Kim Da-mi - Soulmate, Itaewon Class TV series etc) was the witness of her uncle's murder ten years ago and was suspected by the rookie police Kim Han-saem (Son Suk-ku - The Roundup, Big Bet TV series etc), though it was never proven. Because of the trauma that made her lost a bit of her memory, E-na had been seeing psychiatrist Dr. Seong Joo (Park Gyu-young - Sweet Home TV series, Love + Sling etc). In present day, a series of gruesome murders started where the killer left a piece of puzzle to E-na related to each of the crime.

(TV SERIES) Dept. Q Season 1 - Wonderful & Well Written Crime Thriller Series with Engaging Characters & Great Story Telling

As I already opted to watch the other one first, I only started watching this series on Netflix since Saturday & finished it on Sunday. OK here's more on the series then.

Brief Story Line

Experienced Detective Chief Inspector Carl Morck (Matthew Goode - The King's Man, The Good Wife TV series etc) who worked in Edinburgh police office was reassigned by his boss Moira Jacobson (Kate Dickie - Game of Thrones TV series, Damaged etc) to a newly formed Department focusing on cold cases. Despite his obvious resentment, Carl did not have a choice since he was just involved in a major incident earlier that required him seeing psychiatrist Dr. Rachel Irving (Kelly Macdonald - Boardwalk Empire TV series, No Country for Old Men etc). 

Karate Kid: Legends - A Nice Addition to the Beloved Long Running Franchise

Few months ago I saw the teaser of this movie which immediately excite me and my wife. Although it was public holiday on Thursday (a day after it was released in Indonesia), we were having other plans and ended up only seeing the film yesterday. OK, why don't I just get to it then?

Brief Story Line

Li Fong (Ben Wang - American Born Chinese TV serie etc) had been practicing Kung Fu with his great-uncle Master Han (Jackie Chan - Ride On, Skip Trace etc) despite the disapproval from Li's mother, Dr. Fong (Ming-na Wen - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV series, Push etc). When Dr. Fong and Li decided to move from Beijing to New York, both had to adjust with new culture. Li Fong later befriended with Mia (Sadie Stanley - The Sleepover etc), the daughter of Victor Lipani (Joshua Jackson - Dawson's Creek TV series etc) owner of a pizza restaurant. But their friendship was disturbed by Mia's ex boyfriend Conor Day (Aramis Knight - Into the Badlands TV series etc) who was the champion of Karate tournament called Five Boroughs for 5 years in a row.

(Mini Series) The Better Sister - Not Exactly What I Had in Mind, but Likely Would Please Audience Seeking Female Driven Drama with a bit of Mystery

On Thursday, there were 2 new series released on different streaming platforms and both were interesting to me. But as I had to make a choice, I opted to watch this first on Prime Video as it was a limited series that I do not have to worry about having no closure. Anyway I started watching on that night and only finished it this morning. All right, I'll get started then.

After coming home from a major social event, Chloe Taylor (Jessica Biel - I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, 7th Heaven TV series etc) the successful Chief Editor of a popular magazine found her husband Adam Macintosh (Corey Stoll - First Man, The Strain TV series etc) killed in their living room. The shocking incident rocked Chloe and she had no choice but to have her estranged sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks - Migration, Brightburn etc) step in to take care of her son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan). 

Fear Street: Prom Queen - Just Another Slasher Movie Based on One of Fear Street Book Series

I said in one of my previous posts that there were more than one movie released on Friday last week on streaming platforms, but I opted to watch the other one first. So I ended up watching this only yesterday on Netflix when I had a bit of free time. All right then, let's get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in the year 1988 in Shadyside where the high school was preparing itself for a senior Prom night initiated by Vice Principal Brekenridge (Lili Taylor - Perry Mason TV series etc). Overall there were 6 girls who were competing for the Prom queen with the notable ones, the outcast Lori Granger (India Fowler - Insomnia TV series etc) and the mean girl Tiffany Falconer (Fina Strazza - Paper Girls TV series etc). 

While Lori's best friend Megan Rogers (Suzanna Son - The Idol TV series etc) was not too approving of Lori's intention, she still supported her decision. However things become horrifying for the school when a mysterious person dressed in red rain coat started killing the prom queen candidates and anyone close to them.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning - Great Finale to This Long-running Film Series as Tom Cruise Delivered More Awesome Action Stunts

As I said in my previous post, my wife and I had another movie marathon on Saturday with this film as our second one. Though there were many studios playing it, we decided to go to the cinema that we were almost 100% sure it would be having the Dolby Atmos effects. Anyway, let's just get on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

After the events of previous movie, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise - The Firm, The Mummy etc) was working together with Benji (Simon Pegg - The Boys TV series, Ready Player One etc) and Luther (Ving Rhames - The Wild Robot, Pulp Fiction etc) who created a malware that in theory could capture the AI referred to as the Entity. However Gabriel (Esai Morales - NYPD Blue TV series, Crescent City etc) who needed the cruciform key hold by Ethan tried to disrupt this plan. With the help from Grace (Hayley Atwell - Peter Rabbit 2, Captain America: The First Avenger etc), former Gabriel's assassin Paris (Pom Klementieff - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Killer's Game etc) and later former CIA agent Degas (Greg Tarzan Davis - Grey's Anatomy TV series etc), they must device an impossible mission to save the world.

(2025) Lilo & Stitch - One of the Nicest Remake of Disney's Animated Movie With Plenty of Heartwarming Moments

This movie was available since Wednesday together with the wide release of another action film that I was eager to see. Since we were only available to see both during the weekend, my wife and I had another one of our movie marathon day yesterday with this as the first. OK let's get started then.

Brief Story Line

Dr. Jumba Jookiba (Zach Galifianakis - Ron's Gone Wrong, The Hangover trilogy etc) did an illegal experiment in his home planet Turo where he created a destructive creature called Experiment 626 (voiced by Chris Sanders - The Croods: A New Age etc). After 626 somehow escaped and landed on the island of Hawaii, Jumba and Earth expert Agent Pleakley (Billy Magnussen - Road House 2024 remake, No Time to Die etc) were assigned to capture him. 626 who arrived on earth realized that in order to save himself, he need to be shielded by humans. He managed to be "adopted" by 6 year girl named Lilo (Maia Kealoha) who was living together with her older sister Nani (Sydney Elizebeth Agudong). 

Fountain of Youth - Might not be Satisfying for Critics and Audience, but I still Enjoyed this Light Treasure Hunt Movie

Yesterday was one of those days where more than one new movies were released in different streaming platform. I opted to watch this one cause it's been a while since I saw the genre of treasure. Without further ado, here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

Luke Purdue (John Krasinski - If, A Quiet Place etc) had been going around the world searching for paintings that would give clue to the biggest treasure, the fountain of youth. He worked together with his team that consisted of Murphy (Laz Alonso - The Boys TV series, Detained etc) and Deb (Carmen Ejogo - The Penguin mini series, Alien: Covenant etc) and supported financially by the wealthy billionaire Owen Carver (Domhnall Gleeson - Peter Rabbit, White House Plumbers mini series etc).

(TV SERIES) Bet Season 1 - A Series Inspired by Popular Manga/Anime and Live Action Series "Kakegurui"

This series went unnoticed for me till I saw it in the Coming This Week section on Netflix. When I read that it was adapted from Japanese series Kakegurui I thought it might be interesting. So I gave it a try last Thursday and finished it the day after. Without further ado, here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

After continuously making troubles at various schools with her gambling addiction, Yumeko (Miku Martineau - Kate, Star Trek: Section 31 etc) got transferred to St. Dominic's private school which was having a hierarchy system based on gambling winnings. It was run by the student council president Kira (Clara Alexandrova - Danger in the Dorm etc) along with her group that consisted of her sister Riri (Anwen O'Driscoll - Burden of Truth TV series etc), social media queen Suki (Ryan Sutherland), the psychotic Dori (Aviva Mongillo - Backstage TV series etc) and Mary (Eve Edwards).

Final Destination: Bloodlines - A Wonderful Sequel to this Long Running Franchise With Intelligent Twist

When this movie had its early screening last week, I was quite disappointed that it only had night shows which was troublesome for me and my wife who are early sleepers. Anyway it was finally released on Wednesday and we saw this yesterday noon in my favorite studio with almost definitely Dolby Atmos system. OK then, I'll get right with it.

Home Sweet Home: Rebirth - Not As Bad As I Thought Would be

When this movie's poster was placed in the biggest Indonesian cinema chains, I was quite intrigued but did not give too much thought about it until I saw the trailer. To be honest, it did not look too promising then. However when the film was finally released yesterday and it played in the cinema very near my home, I felt it was very convenient and decided to give a try by myself as my wife was not keen on the movie. All right, let's just get to it then.

Jake (William Moseley - The Chronicles of Narnia movies, The Royals TV series etc) who worked as police in the US was having a vacation in Bangkok with his wife Prang (Urassaya Sperbund - Love You to Debt, Thai Cave Rescue mini series etc) and their young daughter Loo (Akeira Hadden). Their supposedly wonderful trip was disrupted at first when they met with a mysterious monk named Chan (Alexander Lee - 3 Peas in a Pod, Moorim School: Saga of the Brave TV series etc) who seemed to know a lot about Jake.

(TV SERIES) The Eternaut Season 1 - Entertaining Sci-fi Argentinian Series Based on Highly Popular Comics

I have been wondering about this series for quite some time ever since I read many headline entertainment news praising it. After finishing up some series that I was eager to complete, finally I decided to give this a try on Sunday night. And since it only had 6 episodes, I was able to finish the whole season yesterday during holiday. So how was the series then? Let's find out more shall we?

Brief Story Line

On a hot summer night in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a group of middle-old best friends Juan Pablo (Ricardo Darin - The Secret in Their Eyes, Nine Queens etc), Alfredo "Tano" Favalli (César Troncoso - A Twelve-year Night, Brazilian Western etc), Lucas (Marcelo Subiotto - La Barbarie, Puan etc) and Ruso (Claudio Martinez Bel) were gathering at Tano's house to have their usual Truco game time. They were also accompanied by Ruso's brother in-law Omar (Ariel Staltari). However, the night turned into nightmare when a sudden snow fall shocked all of them including Tano's wife Ana (Andrea Pietra - Socias TV series, Son de Fierro telenovela etc) who first noticed the death of people exposed from the snow.

Holy Night: Demon Hunters - A Combination of Action and Occult Horror Movie

This movie caught our attention when it was promoted in various cinemas' social media due to its famous lead cast. After released on Wednesday, my wife and I decided to see the film yesterday which apparently was a bit of a challenge since there were only two studios of our favorite cinema chain that played it. Luckily one of them was near our home which made it convenient for us. All right then, I'll get straight with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Story focused on a trio of demon hunters consisted of the leader Baw (Ma Dong-seok - The Roundup: Punishment, Badland Hunters etc), the exorcist Sharon (Seohyun - Love and Leashes, Jinxed at First TV series etc) and the cameraman Kim Gun (Lee David - Svaha: The Sixth Finger, Squid Game season 2 etc) who roamed the city saving people from evil worshippers and demons. 

After completing their latest assignment, Baw was visited by neurophysicist Jung-won (Kyung Soo-jin - The Noisy Mansion, Mouse TV series etc) who sought his help to cure her younger sister Eun-so (Jung Ji-so - The Cursed: Dead Man's Prey, Curtain Call TV series etc) suffering from what seemed to be possession by evil spirit. Despite his reluctance and the clear danger, Baw finally decided to help Jung-won.
