Gran Turismo - An Exciting and Entertainment Movie Based on True Story of a Gamer Turned Real Life Car Racer

I was interested in seeing this movie after I saw the trailer few weeks before. So I convinced my wife to see it this weekend together with another film as part of our movie marathon. OK without further ado, I'll get right on it.

Brief Story Line

Danny Moore (Orlando Bloom - Carnival Row TV series, The Lord of the Rings trilogy etc), the marketing executive of Nissan managed to convince his bosses to form an academy for players of the "Gran Turismo" racing simulator and turn them into actual racer. He later decided to employ Jack Salter (David Harbour - Violent Night, Stranger Things TV series etc), a former race driver as the trainer for the GT Academy. In order to find the best players in the world for this purpose, they put up a competition.

Concrete Utopia - A Very Intense and Extraordinary Survival Drama Movie

I was not aware about this movie until I saw its trailer shown few times in the cinemas in the past few weeks. Unlike most South Korean movies, this was one of those rare film that was released in all major cinema chains in Indonesia. My wife and I decided to see it today in a cinema where we could see another film for our movie marathon day. All right then, I'll get to it.

Brief Story Line

When a major earthquake hit South Korea during the winter, most buildings collapsed and killed a lot of people.  However, one block apartment building somehow survived this catastrophe. Min-seong (Park Seo-joon - The Divine Fury, Itaewon Class etc), a civil servant and his wife Myeong-hwa (Park Bo-young - On Your Wedding Day, Strong Girl Bong-soon TV series etc) who was a nurse were part of the survivors living in this apartment. 

Blue Beetle - A Surprisingly Delightful Origin Story of a Lesser Known Superhero

The news about this movie had been circulating around for quite some time but because I was not familiar with the name, it did not get me too excited. However, seeing it was another superhero movie, I still went ahead and see it during the weekend as I was not free when it was released in midweek. OK, I'll get right to it then. 

Brief Story Line

Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña - Cobra Kai, Parenthood TV series etc) had high hopes when he returned to his hometown after graduating college. Although his parents Alberto (Damian Alcazar - The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian etc) and Rocio (Elpidia Carrillo - Predator etc), younger sister Millagro (Belissa Escobedo - Hocus Focus 2 etc), uncle Rudy (George Lopez -  The Tax Collector, Gnome Alone etc) and grandmother, Nana (Adriana Barazza - From Prada to Nada etc) were actually having financial problems, they were still very delighted with his return.

(2023) The Monkey King - Quite Funny but not the Type of Classic and Most Memorable Adaptation of this Legendary Character

I was only interested in watching this new movie on Netflix as I saw the trailer once few days earlier which seemed funny. I already planned to watch it as soon as I could yesterday when it was released, but due to some late night work discussion, I arrived home quite late and forced myself to see it even though I was a bit tired. Anyway, let us get on with the movie now.

Brief Story Line

Young Monkey had been treated as an outcast since he was a child. So when he grew up, Monkey (Jimmy O. Yang - Love Hard, Crazy Rich Asians etc) decided to change his own fate. As luck would have it, he somehow acquired a powerful stick that would help him fighting a demon. After being told that he should defeat many demons to become an immortal, Monkey who proclaimed himself as Monkey King went on a mission to kill as many as possible.

(TV SERIES) Pending Train - A Would Have been More Exciting Series Personally if the Sci-Fi Element been Explored Further

I think I noticed about this series around 2 weeks ago in Netflix which only had one sentence of synopsis but enough to make me interested. However, I forgotten to watch it on its release date and only started few days after. OK, so what's it all about? Let us find out more, shall we?

Brief Story Line

When Sae Hatano (Kamishiraishi Moka - The Files of Young Kindaichi 2022, The Forest of Wool and Steel etc) went to work by train one morning, she never would have known that it would change her life as the train was derailed to an unknown location after an earthquake. Shirahama (Eiji Akaso - Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! TV series etc) who was a fire fighter managed to calm down most of the passengers, but Naoya Kayashima (Yamada Yuki - School Police, Gachiban: Ultra Max etc) who was never one to follow orders, constantly challenging Shirahama's advice.

The Moon - An Intense and Emotional Rescue Mission Drama Movie

There were plenty of publicity stunts for this movie done by one of the cinema social medias to increase the hype. It seemed to do the job nicely since the theaters showing the film were quite crowded, including the one that we went to 2 days ago. Anyway, my wife and I only went to see the movie on Sunday as we were quite busy with other activities the day before. All right, I'll just get on with it. 

Brief Story Line

The South Korean governments had been trying to send people to the moon for some time. Although their first mission was a failure, but few years later they managed to send a second mission with three astronauts including Hwang Sun-woo (Doh Kyung-soo - My Annoying Brother, Bad Prosecutor TV series etc), Lt Cho (Lee Yi-kyung - 6/45, Go Back Couple TV series etc) and Commander Lee (Kim Rae-won - The First Responders TV series, Crazy Romance etc). 

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem - An Awesomely Done Reboot of the Beloved Ninja Turtles

I knew about this movie few weeks ago and became intrigued since its trailer was shown in theaters few times. I was planning to see this in the cinema near our home but unfortunately it was not playing there and only in several theaters. So my wife and I decided to see this on the weekend in the cinema a bit further. All right then, let us get on with it.

Brief Story Line

After a scientist for a research institute called TCRI led by Cynthia Utrom (Maya Rudolph - Luca, Hubie Halloween etc) managed to develop mutagen that could transform animals into humans, it was thought to have been lost for good. However the mutagen somehow ended up in the sewer where a rat called Splinter (Jackie Chan - Ride On, The Knights of Shadows Between Yin and Yang etc) and four baby turtles were transformed into human. 15 years after the incident, the turtles that consisted of the leader Leonardo (Nicholas Cantu - The Walking Dead: World Beyond TV series etc), the hot headed Raphael (Brady Noon - Good Boys etc), the free spirited Michaelangelo (Shamon Brown Jr) and the smartest Donatello (Micah Abbey) were now teenagers and wanted to be accepted as normal kids by human. Though they realized it was not possible due to various reasons.

Heart of Stone - An Entertaining Enough Spy Action Movie with Gal Gadot as the Super Agent

After being shown in the coming soon section in Netflix for a while and also getting hyped as Gal Gadot's actioner movie, I was looking forward to give this a try on its day of release. So yesterday night I immediately watch it as soon as I got the chance. OK let us get into the movie now. 

Brief Story Line

Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot - Death on the Nile, Red Notice etc) who was working with MI6 agents that included Parker (Jamie Dornan - Robin Hood 2018 version, Belfast etc), Yang (Jing Lusi - Crazy Rich Asians, Gangs of London TV series etc) and Bailey (Paul Ready - Bodyguard TV series etc) were given the task to capture an arms dealer. However some woman who later on revealed to be a brilliant hacker named Keya (Alia Bhatt - Raazi, Gully Boy etc) somehow managed to intrude in their mission. Bailey suspected that she was part of a shadowy spy organization not affiliated to any country called the Charter.

(Mini Series) H/JACK - A Very Suspenseful and Intense Hijacking Story

I noticed about this series some time ago with premise that sounded intriguing and made me interested. But as usual, I would rather watch it when the whole season was completed before starting to do so. Its final episode was shown last week but I only got the chance to begin 3 nights ago. All right then, let's move on to it.

Brief Story Line

Sam Nelson (Idris Elba - Extraction 2, The Jungle Book etc) was a corporate business negotiator who was having estranged relationship with his wife Marsha (Christine Adams - Black Lightning TV series, The Unholy etc). After a business trip, Sam went on a flight from Dubai to London with more than 200 passengers on board including Stuart (Neil Maskell - King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Kill List etc) in Business class, Terry (Jasper Britton), Lewis (Jack McMullen - Grange Hill TV series etc), Jaime (Aimée Kelly - The Duke etc) and the others in Economy class. Unfortunately though, the plane was hijacked not long after taking off. The pilot Robin (Ben Miles - The Crown TV series etc) and the flight attendants such as Collette (Kate Phillips - Miss Scarlet and the Duke TV series etc) tried their best to hold on.  

Meg 2: The Trench - An Even More Over-the-Top Action and Megs to Give us More Thrills

As soon as my wife and I found out about this movie, we decided it was a must-see film. But due to various things, we only got to see it in the weekend and not on weekdays when it was released in theaters. OK, I'll get straight to it then.

Brief Story Line

Few years after the events of the first movie, Jonas (Jason Statham - Wrath of a Man, Mechnic: Resurrection etc) was now working full time at Mana One together with the people he used to work with, Mac (Cliff Curtis - Avatar: The Way of Water, 10,000 BC etc), the engineer DJ (Page Kennedy - The Upshaws TV series etc) and new staff like Jess (Skyler Samuels - Scream Queens TV series etc). The institute was now headed by Zhang Jiuming (Wu Jing - The Wandering Earth II, SPL II etc) and supported by wealthy investor Hillary (Sienna Guillory - Clifford: The Big Red Dog etc). Jonas also became like a father figure to Jiuming's niece Meiying (Sophia Cai) and always very protective of her. 

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead - The Live Version Movie Adaptation of Popular Manga Series

I did not know anything about this movie and only realize its existence when I scroll through new movies on Netflix last night. Apparently it was released the day before so it was still very brand new. After reading the synopsis and watching its trailer, I decided to give it a try as it looked interesting. All right, I will head to it then.

Brief Story Line

Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso - Kamen Rider Build, Super Rich drama series etc) was a young man who thought he got his dream job working for a commercial production company. Turned out it was his worst nightmare as he worked under bullying boss Kosugi (Kazuki Kitamura - Hell Dogs: In the House of Bamboo, Kill Bill Vol. 1 etc). His only solace was he had a crush on one of his senior Ohtori (Yui Ichikawa - Ju-On: The Grudge 2, Nana etc) who was kind towards him. Akira's best friend Kencho (Shuntaro Yanagi - Tokyo Seimenjo drama series etc) also told him to quit his job.

(MINI SERIES) Secret Invasion - Just Another Check-List Series to Cross to Have Knowledge of Complete Story Line in MCU

Once again, a new series from Marvel Cinematic Universe was released on Disney+ few weeks ago. Since I am one of those people who do not want to miss out on anything related to MCU continuation story, I had to watch this series as well. So when its final episode was shown mid of last week, I began to watch it during the weekend and finished immediately. OK, here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson - The Protege, Spiral etc) who had been in space developing space defense system was called back to earth when a group of Skrull rebels led by Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir - King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, One Night in Miami etc) were trying to take over earth by impersonating high ranking officials. Fury worked together with Talos (Ben Mendelsohn - The Outsider TV series, Robin Hood 2018 version etc) whom he first met during the events in Captain Marvel in pacifying the rebels. Gravik himself was supported by plenty of Skrulls who had the same view of his, such as Pagon (Kylian Scott - The Commuter etc), G'iah (Emilia Clarke - Last Christmas, Above Suspicion etc) and new recruit Beto (Samuel Adewunmi - You Don't Know Me TV series etc).
