Missing - The Entertaining Standalone Sequel to that Unique and Brilliant Mystery Thriller "Searching "

I have been meaning to see this movie with my wife ever since it was released on Wednesday, but due to busy period, we only managed to do so during the weekend. We saw it in the theater not far from our home after visiting several places earlier. OK, I will get straight to it then.

Brief Story Line

June (Storm Reid - A Wrinkle in Time, Euphoria TV series etc) was having fun during the weekend when her mother Grace (Nia Long - Look Both Ways, Third Watch TV series etc) went for a weekend getaway with her new boyfriend Kevin (Ken Leung - Old, Industry TV series etc) in Colombia. However, on the day they were supposed to return to Los Angeles, Grace and Kevin never came. 

We Have a Ghost - A Fun Enough Horror Adventure Movie with few Comedic Scenes

Last night I decided to watch this new movie on Netflix as it promised some comedy and I was in the mood for some. Plus there were few well known stars in the movie that interest me. OK, will get right to it now.

Brief Story Line

The Presley family that consisted of Frank (Anthony Mackie - Outside the Wire, The Woman in the Window etc), his wife Melanie (Erica Ash - Survivor's Remorse TV series etc) and their sons Fulton (Niles Fitch - Secret Society of Second-Born Royals etc) and Kevin (Jahi Winston - Charm City Kings etc) just moved to a new house to start fresh. Kevin somehow discovered a ghost named Ernest (David Harbour - Violent Night, Hellboy 2019 version etc) in the house, but instead of being scared, he actually befriended him. Frank then decided to put Ernest on the internet for monetary reason. 

Berbalas Kejam - A Dark Thriller Drama with Quality Performance from Reza Rahadian

I have been meaning to watch this movie after it was released on Prime Video last week, but due to various reasons, I only managed to do so last night. I was intrigued by the premise, even though it might have been a bit too detailed explained in the synopsis. Anyway, I will get right to it now.

Brief Story Line

Adam (Reza Rahadian - Sri Asih, Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas etc) was a successful architect who suffered traumatic event when he witnessed his own family murdered two years earlier. As he was still caught up in the incident and unable to perform his work, Adam was suggested to see the psychiatrist Dr. Amanda (Laura Basuki - Cek Toko Sebelah 2, Susi Susanti: Love All etc).

(2023) Unlocked - An Interesting South Korean Thriller Adapted from Japanese Novel

This movie was released on Netflix on Friday night which usually was the time for me to watch new films on that streaming platform. But as I was with my wife seeing the latest Marvel movie, I had to skip this and only watch it last night. It had interesting premise which made me eager to see. All right then, let's find out more, shall we?

Brief Story Line

Na-mi (Chun Woo-hee - Sunny, Be Melodramatic TV series etc) was a young active woman working in a jelly company but also part time helped in the cafe owned by her father (Park Ho-san - Night in Paradise, Prison Playbook TV series etc). One night Na-mi lost her handphone and unfortunately it was found by a mysterious man (Yim Si-wan - Emergency Declaration, Tracer TV series etc) who tried to unlock it and ultimately tracking her every move.

Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Still Fun and Light but Seemed to Focus on Highlighting the Future Major Villain, Kang the Conqueror

Like other previous movies from Marvel Studios, my wife and I were highly anticipating this one and decided to buy the tickets when they were already sold in advance last weekend. As our favorite theater did not have any evening show on its first day, we bought the tickets for its third day last night. So let's head down to the movie now.

Brief Story Line

After the events in Avengers: End Game, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd - Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Clueless etc) was enjoying his peaceful life with his girlfriend Hope (Evangeline Lilly - The Hobbit films, The Hurt Locker etc), though he was having a bit difficulty with his now teenaged daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton - Freaky, Blockers etc). And it was not really helped by the fact that Cassie's grandparents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas - Basic Instinct, Wall Street etc) and Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer - Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Murder on the Orient Express etc) who were quite supportive of her actions.

(TV SERIES) National Treasure: Edge of History - The Spinoff of the Popular Treasure Hunt Movies

As a fan of the two National Treasure movies starring Nicolas Cage, I would not want to pass the opportunity to watch the series based on those films and set in the same universe. It was released every week on Disney+ since mid December last year and its final episode was just shown last week. So I began to watch it in the weekend and finished it yesterday. OK, I will go straight to it now.

Brief Story Line

Jess Valenzuela (Lisette Olivera - We Need to do Something etc) was a young woman of Mexican descent who lived in the US under DACA immigration policy. She lived with her childhood best friend Tasha Rivers (Zuri Reed) and they were best friends with Oren (Antonio Cipriano) and his roommate Ethan (Jordan Rodrigues - Light as a Feather TV series etc). When Jess somehow met with a former FBI Agent Peter Sadusky (Harvey Keitel - Taxi Driver, Bugsy etc), she found herself caught in the middle of treasure hunt led by ruthless antiquities dealer Billie Pearce (Catherine Zeta-Jones - Wednesday TV series, Entrapment etc). 

(2023) Phantom - A Spy Thriller Movie Combining the Art of Deception with Some Stylish Action

I knew about this South Korean movie from social media of two cinema chains in Indonesia and after further reading, I found out that it was quite successful in its home country. With an intriguing plot, it certainly raised my curiosity. So yesterday my wife and I went to the cinema near our home that played the film. OK, let us dive into it then.

Brief Story Line

Set in the year 1933 during the Japanese colonialism in Korea, an anti-government group tried to assassinate the new Governor-General. The Japanese soldiers led by Captain Takahara (Park Hae-soo - Money Heist: Korea TV series, Narco-Saints series etc) was assigned to find out the culprit, known by the code name Phantom.

The Wandering Earth II - The Visually Stunning Prequel to One of the Highest Grossing Chinese Movie which Might be a bit too Complex

When I saw that this movie was going to be released in certain Indonesian cinemas, I was actually quite surprised since the first film was never shown and I only got the chance to watch it on Netflix. But as I have the opportunity to see this on big screen, I would not want to pass it and decided to see it yesterday. My wife was kind enough to accompany me even though I knew she preferred to watch it on TV. Anyway, let's get right to it.

When the sun was expanding and would make the earth inhabitable in 100 years, various countries decided to build engines that would propel earth to another solar system. However, some people believed that Digital life would be a better option where their consciousness could be uploaded and they would live forever. The Chinese ambassador Mr. Zhou (Li Xuejian - The Water Margin TV series etc) and his trusted assistant Hao Xiaoxi (Zhu Yanmazhi - Morning Princess etc) were trying to convince other leaders that Moving Mountain project was still the best option despite the skepticism from the rest of the countries. 

Babylon - A Quite Interesting but Slightly Dark Take on the Transition of Silent to Sound Films in Hollywood

I said in my previous post that a new movie was released on last Friday but I decided to postpone seeing till weekend since it was > 3 hours long. And after finishing plenty of activities in the whole morning to afternoon, I finally saw this in the evening by myself. I did not encourage my wife to see it with me as I was not sure she would have liked it. So let's get to the movie now.

Brief Story Line

Set in the mid 1920s when silent movies were in their prime in the film industry, Manny (Diego Calva - I Promised You Anarchy, Narcos: Mexico TV series etc) was working as the runaround man for Kinescope studio, Hollywood. During one of the party in the executive's house, Manny met for the first time and was attracted to a woman named Nellie LaRoy (Margot Robbie - Amsterdam, Focus etc) who was thriving to become a major star. After this party, Manny drove home the famous actor Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt - Bullet Train, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood etc) who was drunk and became his trusted aid ever since.

Viking Wolf - A Norwegian Werewolf Movie

Despite a new movie was released in the Indonesian cinemas yesterday, I opted to watch this film on Netflix as that one was having 3 hours duration which would be tiring to see at night. Besides, this one has an interesting element that I have not seen in a while. All right then, let's get right to it.
