As I was staying at home during the mid week public holiday, I spent it by watching this series. It was not brand new as it has already been released since 2017, but I only came across it while browsing through Iflix list of series. During this challenging times as part of their effort to keep people stay at home, the streaming provider opened up their services for free on some of their programs which previously could only be watched by paying members. Anyway let's get on with the series now.

This week, instead of having a major US blockbuster movie released, we got this film that was a 2019 production and its poster was hanging on few studios for few months. Anyway since there was no other movie that could be chosen, I decided to watch this one, and as usual, due to uncertainty of its quality, I saw it by myself. Well let's get on with it now.

(TV SERIES) Watchmen Season 1 - Dark, Full of Surprising Twists and Heavy on Racism Premise

I have known about this series for quite a long time and it was highly recommended by my brother in law. But as I was continuing other series that I was a bit behind, I only got the chance to see this last week. Before I started watching it, I followed his advice to watch the 2009 movie first just to get the hang of it and remind me of what the story was all about. OK, here goes.

Brief Synopsis

Set in the alternate reality of 2019, the police in Tulsa Oklahoma had to wear masks to avoid being targeted by white supremacist group called Seventh Kavalry. The Gentlemen - Another Well Crafted Movie from Guy Ritchie with his Usual Unique Story Telling Style

Since few weeks ago, this movie had been playing in Indonesian theaters but somehow I either could not find the time or the excitement to really go to the cinema to see it. Until today when I noticed it is still playing in few studios. As my wife and I did not have anything planned, we went straight to Grand Indonesia and saw it in the first available show. OK I'll go straight to the movie now.

Bloodshot - Hardly a Classic, but Still Pretty Entertaining for Action Fans

After playing in theaters for few days, I finally got the chance to see this movie today. I was originally planning to see it on its premier date on Wednesday, but turned out my favorite theater was having some kind of whole day event then as it did not play any movie at all. Anyway, we bought the tickets for 12 PM show where we were seeing it together with less than 20 people in the whole theater. OK let's get on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel - xXx: Return of Xander Cage, Fast and Furious movies etc) was a hotshot marine who was killed by a vicious criminal named Martin Axe (Toby Kebbel - The Hurricane HeistWar for Planet of the Apes etc). However, a group of scientists under Dr. Harting (Guy Pearce - Memento, Iron Man 3 etc) somehow managed to revive Ray using technology. He was later introduced to other former soldiers who were given organ replacements such as KT (Eiza González - From Dusk till Dawn: The Series etc), Dalton (Sam Heughan) and Tibbs (Alex Hernandez).

(2019) Line of Duty - Suspenseful Enough as Real Time Action Movie Even Despite Some of its Flaws

While looking at the list of movies playing in one of Indonesia's cinema website, I noticed a new movie that was released yesterday. I saw its posters few times in their theaters earlier but did not really look into it. As there was no other movie and I wanted to give this a try, I decided to see it last night. My wife did not accompany for this with doubt over its quality. Anyway, I'll get to the movie now.

Onward - An Amazing Tale of Adventure with Truly Heartwarming Story

I did not really know about the existence of this movie until I saw its trailer 2 times last week. And personally I was not that interested at first until I saw that it was a Disney/Pixar production which had brought us many wonderful beautiful animated movies. So when it was announced there was advance ticket sale, I urged my wife to buy the tickets for last night during its wide release. OK, will go straight to the movie now.

Brief Story Line

Set in a fantasy world where various magical creatures live together, a young elf named Ian Lightfoot (Tom Holland - Spies in DisguiseDolittle etc) was given a gift by his mother Laurel (Julia Louis-Dreyfus - A Bug's Life, Seinfeld TV series etc). Hitman: Agent Jun - Entertaining Enough for an Action Comedy Movie

Actually this movie was already released more than a week ago, but as I said in one of my previous posts, I was not really in the mood to go out to theaters during last weekend. This time though, when I saw that it was still playing in several theaters, I asked my wife to accompany me seeing what seemed like a fun action comedy movie, especially since she also knew and quite like the male lead. So here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

Jun (Kwon Sang-woo - Stairway to Heaven TV series, The Accidental Detective etc) was a former hitman for the South Korean secret agents who had retired and living peacefully with his wife Mi-na (Hwang Woo-seul hye - Crash on Landing on You TV series etc) and young daughter Ga Yeong (Lee Ji-won - Last Scandal TV series etc). His passion was to be a successful webtoon animator, but sadly his works had been terrible.

The Invisible Man - Personally a bit too Much Emphasis on Psychological Part, Making it Less Enjoyable as a Horror SciFi Movie

This movie had been released in Indonesian theaters since few days ago but as the show time was not too suitable with my work schedule (mostly 6PM which was too tight from my office), I had to wait till the weekend to see this. My wife who just saw the trailer on Saturday morning decided it was interesting enough to accompany me. OK, let's continue with the movie.

Brief Story Line

Cecilia (Elizabeth Moss - The Handmaid's Tale TV series etc) was the abused wife of a rich scientist Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen - The Haunting of Hill House TV series etc) who managed to escape from him with the help from her younger sister Emily (Harriet Dyer - The InBetween TV series etc) and her best friend James (Aldis Hodge - Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Hidden Figures etc).
