Per Aspera Ad Astra - A Visually Stunning Space Adventure Sci-Fi Movie With Some Greatly Done Special Effects

Last night I was searching for new things to watch on various streaming services and came across this film on Netflix that was released the day before. I never knew of its existence previously but seeing the synopsis and the lead star, I was immediately intrigued. So without hesitation, I immediately gave it a try. OK, let's dive right into it then.

Brief Story Line

Story was set in the future where space travels were quite common and a lot of missions were done towards distant planets which would take many years to reach. During these travels, the crew were put in deep sleep but were able to live and control their dreams using technology called LM developed by Sweet Dreams Corporation. During a long mission on Mengya interstellar ship, a coder from Sweet Dreams named Xu Tianbao (Dylan Wang - Light to the Night TV series, I Dreamed a Dream etc) had awakened from his sleep earlier and later saw an explosion on certain part of the ship.

(TV SERIES) Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - The Star Trek Series that Brought Back so much Nostalgia and the Reason Why I love this Franchise

When this series was released last year, I was thinking it might be difficult to watch it as the newest Star Trek series have been taken out from one streaming platform. Lucky for me as I was browsing through Catchplay+, I found that few series from Paramount+ are also available there. So without hesitation, I immediately start watching this few days ago and finished it last night. Well, here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

After a bit of hiatus, Christopher Pike (Anson Mount - Visions, Inhuman TV series etc) was called up by the Starfleet to re-navigate USS Enterprise on a special mission. Despite his reluctance, he agreed to do so as it involved the rescue of his old friend. Captain Pike would be assisted by science officer Spock (Ethan Peck - 10 Things I Hate About You TV series etc), chief security officer La'an (Christina Chong), Doctor M'Benga (Babs Olusanmokum), Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush), Chief Engineer Hemmer (Bruce Horak) and helmsman Ortegas (Melissa Navia). There was also a new cadet named Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) and later they would be joined by Number One/Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn - X-Men trilogy, The Librarian TV series etc).

As a fan of Pixar Animation Studios animated movies, I was actually looking forward to see this one in the theater. But unfortunately due to some reasons, it was never shown in Indonesian cinemas. Luckily though, we are able to see it now that it was already released on Disney+. My wife and I immediately watched this yesterday once it was available. OK, let's get right to it then.

Space Sweepers - Amazing First Attempt of Korean Space Blockbuster Movie

I originally wanted to watch this movie on the day it was premiered, but due to some unknown reasons another movie that was supposed to be released earlier was only available on the same day. So I opted to watch that one first. Anyway, this was interesting to me because it was said to be the first Korean space blockbuster movie. Well we should start with it now.

Brief Story Line

Set in the future when the earth was nearly uninhabitable, an organization called UTS led by scientist/entrepreneur James Sullivan (Richard Armitage - Ocean's 8, The Lodge etc) managed to build a place to live out of space called Home. The Midnight Sky - A Rather Slow-paced Sci-Fi Drama Movie Aided by Some Wonderful Special Effects & Awesome Musical Scores

There was this new sci-fi movie on Netflix which I thought would be a nice option to watch. It also stars George Clooney who has been playing in more serious roles in recent years. So I gave this a try yesterday and I'll get right to it now.

Brief Story Line

Set in the year 2049, the earth was exposed to radiation which would make it inhabitable. Dr. Augustine Lofthouse (George Clooney - Money Monster, Syriana etc) was one of the scientist working in the Arctic who refused to be evacuated due to his poor health condition. As he was looking at space missions, he noticed one was still active called Aether that was heading back to earth and tried to warn them not to return.

(TV SERIES) The Mandalorian Season 1 - Magnificent Series in the Star Wars Universe

I have seen many times the promotion of the second season of this series which is set to premier today, and it was quite funny that I never got the chance to watch it until last night. As it is available on Disney+, it was quite convenient for me. My review might have been a bit late, but I think it should be just nice before the new season is released. OK let's get on with it.

Brief Story Line

Set 5 years after Return of the Jedi (Star Wars Episode VI), a bounty hunter known as The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal - The Equalizer 2The Great Wall etc) was famous for being able to capture hard and dangerous criminal. He would usually got the assignments from Bounty Hunters' Guild leader Greef Karga (Carl Weathers - Rocky movies, Action Jackson etc). When the Mandalorian was given a special task by The Client (Werner Herzog) to capture something referred to as The Child, he decided against all odds to protect it instead.

(TV SERIES) Star Trek: Picard season 1 - A Well Crafted Space Adventure Series Focusing on One of the Most Charismatic & Beloved Character of Star Trek Franchise

When I found out there would be a Star Trek series which focused on the character Jean-Luc Picard, I was very excited. During this past weekend, I got the chance to watch the whole first season and could not wait to write about it. Well let's get on with it then.

Brief Story Line

Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart - The Kid Who Would be KingCharlie's Angels 2019 version etc) had retired from Starfleet for 20 years and was living in a chateau in France. When a mysterious young woman named Dahj (Isa Briones) somehow came to his place, Picard had no choice but to find out her background as well as try to save her life.

With the help from his former Starfleet First Officer named Raffi (Michelle Hurd - Blindspot TV series etc) and her friend Captain Rios (Santiago Cabrera - Merlin TV series etc) who owned a ship, they embarked on a journey to help Picard on his "latest mission". They were also joined by a synthetic life expert Dr. Agnes Jurati (Alison Pill - Vice, Scott Pilgrim vs the World etc) and a Romulan refugee Elnor (Evan Evagora).
