Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Still as Entertaining as its Predecessors and Should be Pleasing for Fans of the Games

This movie had its early screening in Indonesia last weekend but my wife and I did not have the time to see it then. And so we decided to do it yesterday afternoon where apparently many families also went to the cinema we saw it. OK, I'll just get right to it then.

Brief Story Line

After the events of second movie, Sonic (Ben Schwartz - The Afterparty TV series, Space Force TV series etc), Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey - Naruto anime series etc) and Knuckles (Idris Elba - Extraction 2, H/Jack TV series etc) were now living happily together with their adoptive parents Tom (James Marsden - X-men movies, Hairspray etc) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter - A Madea Christmas etc). One day as they were spending a good time, team Sonic were approached by G.U.N agents led by Director Rockwell (Krysten Ritter - Nightbooks, Love and Death mini series etc) to help diffuse a major situation in Japan caused by another super hedgehog called Shadow (Keanu Reeves - Toy Story 4, John Wick movies etc). 

(TV SERIES) Paris Has Fallen Season 1 - A Pretty Entertaining Action Thriller Series

In the website where I could check on new movies or series released in various streaming platforms, I saw the title of this series on Catchplay+ which intrigued me. After finding out more, I realized that it was indeed related to the movies with similar words in their title. So obviously I wanted to give it a try. I started watching 3 nights ago and finished it last night. All right then, I'll just get right with the series.

Brief Story Line

After a major terrorist attack in Paris, Vincent Taleb (Tewfik Jallab - Like a Prince, Oussekine TV series etc) a security protection for Minister of Defence and former Special Forces had to work together with an MI6 agent Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya - Red Notice, Humans TV series etc) to stop further terror. They were joined by other people in the Counter Terrorist unit led by Matis (Jérémie Covillault) who report directly to the French president Juliette Levesque (Emmanuelle Bercot - De grandes espérances, Mon Roi etc).

Mufasa: The Lion King - An Entertaining Prequel that Complement the Awesome Original Story

I was a bit surprised when I found out about this movie cause I did not know its existence until few months ago. Nevertheless when I realized it was going to be released this week, we decided to look for the time to see it during the weekend. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

After the events of The Lion King, Simba (Donald Glover - Mr. and Mrs. Smith TV series, The Lazarus Effect etc) and Nala (Beyoncé Knowles-Carter) had a female cub named Kiara (Blue Ivy-Carter). One day, Kiara was left with Pumbaa (Seth Rogen - The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Kungfu Panda etc) and Timon (Billy Eichner - Bros, Noelle etc) as Simba had to accompany Nala outside. During this time, Rafiki (John Kani - Murder Mystery 2 etc) joined them and later told the story of Kiara's grandfather, Mufasa.

Juror #2 - An Amazing Legal Thriller Directed by Clint Eastwood

While looking at new movies released yesterday on various streaming services, only this one that truly made me interested. It was still brand new and I also quite like the genre. So I decided to watch this last night. All right, I'll get to it then.

Brief Story LIne

Justin Kemp (Nicholas Hoult - The Menu, Those Who Wish Me Dead etc) got a call for jury duty which he tried to get out of since his wife Allison Crewson (Zoey Deutch -  Zombieland: Double Tap, Not Okay etc) was in the last trimester of high risk pregnancy. However the Assistant DA Faith Killebrew (Toni Collette - Nightmare Alley, The Sixth Sense etc) and the public defender Eric Resnick (Chris Messina - Based on a True Story TV series, Air etc) have no objection about him and he was appointed as one of the 12 juries. The case itself was about the murder of a young woman where the accused was her boyfriend James Sythe (Gabriel Basso - The Night Agent TV series, Hillbilly Elegy etc).

(TV SERIES) Light Shop - An Intelligently Done Mystery Drama Series with a Touch of Horror and Plenty of Emotional Moments

I was aware about this series from the news I read few weeks ago which sounded intriguing. So when it was finally released on Disney+ on December 4, I patiently wait until the finale was about to be shown on this Wednesday before I started watching two days before and finished it last night. OK why don't I just get right to the series then?

Brief Story Line

Story focused on a group of people who were experiencing strange occurrence and somehow were attracted to a bright Light Shop in the middle of a dark alley, managed by the shop keeper Won-young (Ju Ji-hoon - Kingdom TV series, Ransomed etc). Among them were a man named Hyun-min (Uhm Tae-goo - The Great Battle, My Sweet Mobster TV series etc) who saw a mysterious young woman always waiting at his final bus stop (Kim Seol-hyun - Memoir of a Murderer, Summer Strike TV series etc), a high school girl Hyun-ju (Shin Eun-soo - Homme Fatale, Twinkling Watermelon TV series etc) who always went to the light shop buying bulb for her mother Yu-hui (Lee Jung-eun - The Frog TV series, Hommage etc) and several others.

Kraven the Hunter - Probably the Final Movie in the Sony's Spider-man Universe which could Diminish All Hopes of Possible Major Cross-over

As fans of superhero movies, my wife and I certainly do not want to miss out on this, even if we are not familiar with the character. Originally we wanted to see this in the cinema with Dolby Atmos system near our home but it did not play the film. So we ended up seeing it in another studio with standard sound system not far from there yesterday. OK, I'll get straight to it now.

Sergei (Aaron Taylor-Johnson - The Fall Guy Bullet Train etc) and his half brother Dmitri (Fred Hechinger - Gladiator II, The White Lotus season 1 TV series etc) were the sons of Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe - Thor: Love and Thunder, Noah etc), a Russian crime lord who had been grooming them, especially Sergei to become his heir. However, Sergei decided to become vigilante hunting criminals and got the nickname of Kraven the Hunter. Kraven was able to become a hunter with amazing powers after an incident he experienced during a hunting trip years before.

Carry-On - An Entertaining Action Thriller that Should Excite Fans of Such Genre

After few weeks of no exciting new movie released in Netflix on Friday, yesterday there was this film with interesting premise. Obviously I decided to watch it once I was ready after finishing work. All right, let's just get on with the movie then.

Brief Story Line

Ethan Kopek (Taron Egerton - Sing 2, Robin Hood etc) was a Transportation Security Administration-TSA officer working in the Los Angeles airport together with his girlfriend Nora (Sofia Carson - Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists TV series, Purple Hearts etc). On the day before Christmas during the very busy period, Ethan was stationed at the luggage scanning post. However, he soon got a message from mysterious person referred to as Traveler (Jason Bateman - Thunder Force, The Outsider mini series etc) who threatened him to let a luggage past during inspection. As he tried hard to reject the threat, Ethan could not avoid as Traveler was assisted by Watcher (Theo Rossi - The Penguin mini series, Emily and the Criminal etc) who had vast knowledge about him.

(TV SERIES) Cross Season 1 - An Enjoyable Adaptation of James Patterson's Best Selling Novel Series

I have been meaning to watch this series that was released on Prime Video on 14 November, but since I was in the middle of other series plus my holiday vacation last week, I only started it three days ago and finished last night. Without further ado, let's get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Dr. Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge - Black Adam, Leverage TV series etc), a Forensic Psychologist was working as homicide detective in DC with his partner John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa - It Chapter Two, Boy Kills World etc). Cross was struggling with his personal life and had to have help from his grandmother Regina (Juanita Jennings - Meet the Browns TV series etc) to take care of his children Damon (Caleb Elijah) and Jannie (Melody Hurd). 

Alex was beginning to have a relationship with Elle (Samantha Walkes), a director of Non profit organization who introduced him to some high powered people including the very wealthy Ed Ramsey (Ryan Eggold - The Blacklist TV series, New Amsterdam TV series etc). Ed himself was taking an interest on a young woman named Shannon Witmer (Eloise Mumford - Fifty Shades trilogy etc) whom he met through dating app.

I Did It My Way - A Suspenseful Enough Action Thriller Movie With Nice Performance from Andy Lau and Gordon Lam

As mentioned in the post before this, I was on holiday with my wife for the whole last week. During the flight to our destination by Cathay Pacific, I enjoyed the variety of Hong Kong and Chinese movies which either did not play in Indonesia or only played at limited cinemas in short time that I did not have the chance to see them. Anyway there were several films that I watched during the flights to and return, but I prefer to write about this movie. Well here's more on it.

Brief Story Line

The Hong Kong Cybercrime unit led by Eddie Fong (Eddie Peng - Duckweed, Wu Kong etc) had been eyeing to capture leader of major drug syndicate referred to as the Boss. During a bust, the police managed to apprehend Uncle Chiu (Philip Keung - Warriors of Future, Trivisa etc) who was suspected as the Boss. Chiu later asked to speak to his lawyer George Lam (Andy Lau - Shock Wave 2, The Great Wall etc).

(TV SERIES) Black Doves Season 1 - An Interesting British Spy Thriller Series with Some Nicely Done Action and Good Enough Story Telling

As I was on holiday during whole last week with my wife, I did not have any chance to see new movies in the cinemas and only watched series on Netflix. This one though, I started watching yesterday and managed to finish in one day. It was a series that intrigued me and made me opt to watch it first ahead of other series available. All right then, why don't I just head to it.

Brief Story Line

Helen Webb (Keira Knightley - Official Secrets, Pride and Prejudice etc) was the wife of Secretary of State for Defence Wallace Webb (Andrew Buchan - All the Money in the World, Broadchurch TV series etc) who was actually a spy working for an organization selling secrets to highest bidder called Black Dove. When some people were mysteriously killed in one night, Helen's handler Reed (Sarah Lancashire - Coronation Street TV series, Everybody's Talking About Jamie etc) got worried that it might implicate the Black Dove. To help Helen deal with this problem, Reed called her former Triggerman Sam (Ben Whishaw - No Time to Die, Paddington etc) to come out of retirement and protect Helen.
