(TV SERIES) Signal: Long-Term Unsolved Case Investigation Team - An Enjoyable Series that Combined Sci-Fi Element Nicely with Some Drama and the Remake of South Korean Widely Acclaimed Series, Signal

My wife has recommended this series to me for a while now, but I just got the time to start it during this weekend's long holiday. I finished it pretty fast as it only has 10 episodes overall. All right, let's dive into it then.

Brief Story Line

Kento Saegusa (Kentaro Sakaguchi - The 100th Love with You etc) who worked as a low ranked police officer somehow managed to help solve an old kidnapping case in the year 2010. Eight years later he started to work as a criminal profiler in a team that specialized in solving cold cases led by Detective Misaki Sakurai (Michiko Kichise - Love Affairs in the Afternoon etc).

Restless - Way Better than Expected Thriller Movie with Strong Dark Comedy Element

Last night I opted to watch this French movie on Netflix as other new releases were either ones that did not really appeal to me or series that require concentration. It intrigued me as the premise looked interesting. Now let us get right to it then. 

Brief Synopsis

Lt. Thomas Blin (Franck Gastambide - Taxi 5 etc) was a cop who was having the worst night of his life when he was involved in an accident while trying to be in the police station at the same time as attending to his mother's casket closing. To avoid having repercussions, he tried to cover up the accident.

Unfortunately though, he started to get threats from a mysterious person on his cover up. 

(TV SERIES) One of Us is Lying Season 1 - Interesting Enough Murder Mystery Series in High School

During last weekend, I started to watch this series. There were actually tons of new and ongoing series available on Netflix in the past few weeks, but I decided with this one as it intrigued me the most with its premise. Well, I will get into it now.

Brief Story Line

In Bayview Highschool, there was an online gossip group called About That which was moderated by Simon (Mark McKenna - Sing Street etc) who was best friend with Janae (Jessica McLeod). On the first day after the summer holiday, five students that included popular cheerleader Addy (Annalisa Cochrane), a straight A student Bronwyn (Marianly Tejada), a talented baseball pitcher Cooper (Chibuikem Uche), the school's bad boy/drug dealer Nate (Cooper van Grootel) and Simon were put in detention.

(TV SERIES) Peacemaker Season 1 - An Amazing Series Based on DC Characters Introduced in The Suicide Squad

After waiting for a while, the first season of this series was finally completed on Thursday. And I had the chance to watch the whole season yesterday on HBO Go. All right, why don't I just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

After the events in The Suicide Squad, Chris Smith aka Peacemaker (John Cena - Bumblebee, Vacation Friends etc) who just recovered from his injury, thought he could run free only to find himself recruited again by ARGUS for a special project called Butterfly. The team now was led by Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) supported by Agent Harcourt (Jennifer Holland - American Pie Presents: The Book of Love etc), the tech guy John Economos (Steve Agee - The Sarah Silverman Program series etc) and the newest member Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks - Orange is the New Black TV series etc). 

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Maximum Gore Entertainment

I forgotten about this movie that was scheduled to be released on Netflix yesterday. Luckily I was checking on what new films available last night and noticed this. So without any hesitation, I watched this one immediately. OK, lets get the show on the road.

Brief Story Line

A group of young people that consisted of Melody (Sarah Yarkin - Happy Death Day 2U etc), her younger sister Lila (Elsie Fisher - The Addams Family 2019 version etc), her business partner Dante (Jacob Latimore - The Chi TV series etc) and his girlfriend Ruth (Nell Hudson) went to the ghost town of Harlow to start some business. They have assigned local mechanic named Richter (Moe Dunford - Vikings TV series) to help them with some work as they prepared to meet with the investor Catherine (Jessica Allain).

Fistful of Vengeance - A Totally Unnecessary Follow Up to the Wu Assassins Series

Yesterday I got notification that Netflix has released a new movie which from the poster I saw, was the movie sequel from the series Wu Assassins that I have watched before. I did not bother to read the synopsis anymore and just went straight to watch it.

Brief Story Line 

Some time after the events of the first season, Kai Jin (Iko Uwais - Stuber, The Night Comes for Us etc) together with Lu Xin (Lewis Tan - Mortal Kombat 2021, Into the Badlands TV series etc) and Tommy Wah (Lawrence Kao) went to Bangkok to search for clues on who murdered one of their own.

KIMI - A Unique Thriller Drama with Slow Start but Strong Ending

Yesterday I found out about this movie which was just released on HBO Go that intrigued me. It did not play in the cinemas but seemed to have interesting premise. All right, I'll get right to it then.

Brief Synopsis

Angela Childs (Zoë Kravitz - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Divergent Series: Allegiant etc) was a tech worker working for a company that developed virtual assistant application called Kimi. Being an agoraphobic (see Notes below), Angela was not able to leave her apartment.

(TV SERIES) Reacher Season 1 - An Awesome Series Based on Popular Jack Reacher Novels by Lee Child

Few days ago, I noticed there was this new series in Prime Video which was interesting for me as I quite liked the movies based on the titular character. I wanted to find out if this series is as good as the commentaries seemed to hint. OK, why don't I just start with it.

Brief Story Line

Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Titans TV series etc), a retired army investigator arrived in the small town of Margrave, Georgia to have a bit of fun, only to be detained by the police for suspicion of murder. The Chief Detective Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin - iZombie TV series etc) was unable to get anything from Reacher but did find out that he was really perceptive. A rookie officer named Roscoe (Willa Fitzgerald - Scream TV series etc) was doubtful of Reacher's involvement.

(TV SERIES) Love You as the World Ends Season 1 & 2 - Love Story During Zombie Apocalypse

While looking through the many new series/movies on Netflix, I stumbled upon this Japanese zombie series which intrigued me. At first I was a bit hesitant as it was having 16 episodes that to me was a bit long, but as I already set my sight on expanding my horizons, I decided to give it a try. All right, I'll head on to it then.

Brief Story Line (Season 1 - Eps 1-10)

Hibiki Mamiya (Ryoma Takeuchi - Kamen Rider Drive etc) and Kurumi Ogasawara (Ayami Nakajo - Let's Go, Jets! etc) were ordinary couple who were so much in love. But when Hibiki was trapped in a tunnel for few days, he returned to a completely different world where it was inhabited by zombies and the whereabouts of Kurumi was unknown. 

(TV SERIES) The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window - Interesting Dark Comedy, Mystery Mini Series

This was one of the series that I looked forward to which happened to be released last Friday as well. But as I said in my previous posts, I started to watch this only on Sunday noon and completed it on the same day. And here's more on the series.

Feeling depressed due to a tragedy, Anna (Kristen Bell - Frozen II, Bad Moms etc) was living by herself after separating with her husband Douglas (Michael Ealy - Stumptown TV series etc). She had a bad habit of drinking wine with her pills, which could sometime cause hallucination. One day a new handsome neighbor named Neil (Tom Riley - The Nevers TV series etc) and his 9 year old daughter Emma (Samsara Yett) moved in to the house across the street and Anna was immediately interested.
