Shazam! Fury of the Gods - An Entertaining Sequel to the Lighthearted Superhero Movie

As I enjoyed the first movie a lot, I would not want to miss the opportunity to see this sequel when it's playing in cinemas. That's why we immediately purchased the tickets when they were sold in advance last week for this weekend's show. All right then, I'll get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Two years after the event in the first movie, Billy Batson (Asher Angel - Darby and the Dead etc) had been saving Philadelphia from various dangers as his alter ego (played by Zachary Levi - Chuck TV series etc). He was doing it with his foster siblings Freddy (played by Jack Dylan Grazer - Ron's Gone Wrong etc and Adam Brody - Ready or Not etc), Mary (Grace Caroline Currey - Fall etc), Eugene (played by Ian Chen - Fresh off the Boat TV series etc and Ross Butler - 13 Reasons Why TV series etc), Pedro (played by Jovan Armand and D. J. Cotrona - From Dusk Till Dawh: The Series etc) and Darla (played by Faithe Herman and Meagan Good - Harlem TV series etc). All of them were still living in the home of Rosa (Marta Milans) and Victor (Cooper Andrews) who were unaware of their activities. Meanwhile, Freddy got to know a new girl at school named Anne (Rachel Zegler - West Side Story etc) and grew close to her.

My wife and I were in the mood for something light during the weekend and it looked like this movie fit just nicely, especially since one of the stars was known for his comedic roles in the past. So yesterday noon, we went to the cinema that we had not been to for some time and decided to see the movie. All right, will get on with it now.

Brief Story Line

Min-su (Yoo Yeon-seok - Hospital Playlist TV series, The Interest of Love TV series etc) had been in a relationship with his girlfriend Seong Gyeong (Jung In-sun - My Secret Terrius TV series, Psychopath Diary TV series etc) for few years and wanted to get married with her. Unfortunately though, Min-su just found out that her fiancee was allergic to dogs, while he had a dog named Runni who had accompanied him through the years even during his most difficult times.

Suzume - Makoto Shinkai did it Again!

So this movie was getting a lot of hype in various social media and even the director's name was trending for a while in Indonesia when it was released on Wednesday. But as it was now increasingly challenging for me to see a movie on weekdays, I decided to see this one last night.  My wife was willing to accompany after I convinced her this would likely be a great movie as it was directed by Makoto Shinkai. OK then, let's get right to the movie.

Brief Story Line

Suzume (Nanoka Hara - Night Doctor TV series etc) was a high school girl living in the small town of Kyushu with her aunt Tamaki (Eri Fukatsu - Survival Family etc) since 4 years old. One day as she was going to school, she met with a guy later on revealed to be Souta (Hokuto Matsumura - xxxHolic etc) who was looking for a door in ruins. Suzume would then be caught up in something that Souta had been doing for some time and she had no choice but to help him close doors across Japan to avoid disasters.

(TV SERIES) The Recruit Season 1 - A Fun and Exciting Spy Adventure Series with Touches of Humor and a bit of Action

This series was actually released on Netflix back in December 2022, but I opted to see other series first and ended up forgotten about it and lost interest. Two days ago though, after finishing something else, I finally decided to give this a try as it was shown that the series was renewed for second season. So it must be good enough to warrant for renewal. Anyway, I finished this last night and here's more on the series.

Brief Story Line

Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo - Black Adam, The Perfect Date etc) who was just graduated from law school became a new recruit in CIA. After two days of work, he was given the task of reviewing graymails (mails from people threatening to disclose secrets of the agency). As he reviewed them, Owen noticed one mail from a woman named Max Meladze (Laura Haddock - Transformers: The Last Knight, White Lines TV series etc) who was in prison for murder and felt it was a credible threat.

I was looking forward to see this movie after it was promoted in the cinema social medias and saw its trailer. But when it was released, I was busy at work and only got the chance to do so during the weekend. My wife was willing to accompany me after she watched the first and second films via online streaming and did enjoy them. All right then, let's get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Few years after the events in Creed II, Adonis "Donnie" Creed (Michael B. Jordan - Black Panther, Without Remorse etc) decided to retire from boxing to focus on his wife Bianca (Tessa Thompson - Men In Black: International, Sorry to Bother You etc) and their young daughter Amara (Mila Davis-Kent), while staying close to Donnie's adoptive mother Mary Anne (Phylicia Rashad - Good Deeds etc). Donnie had become a successful promoter and managing Delphi Boxing Academy with his old trainer Duke (Wood Harris - Empire TV series etc). He was in the midst of promoting Felix Chavez (José Benavidez Jr.) to fight against Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu - Shang-Chi and the Legends of Ten Rings etc).
