Blonde - The Controversial Fictionalized Biography Drama Movie of Marilyn Monroe

This movie has garnered a lot of attention way before its release date 2 days ago. As I was seeing another movie in the theater then, I only got the chance to watch it on Netflix last night. And without further ado, I'll just get on with it.

Brief Story Line

Movie started in the year 1933 when a 7 year old Norma Jean (Lily Fisher) was brought up by her mother Gladys (Julianne Nicholson - Mare of Easttown mini series etc) in a not healthy environment for children. After a while, a grown up Norma Jean (Ana de Armas - The Gray Man, No Time to Die etc) was able to acquire role in few movies using the name Marilyn Monroe and started to gain fame.

(2022) Smile - One Scary Spine-Chilling Horror Movie

When I first saw the poster of this movie, I somehow felt an eerie feeling looking at the smile of the character. Obviously it intrigued me and made me eager to see the movie once it was released yesterday. As it was classified as horror, I went to see it by myself while my wife skip this one. And how was my experience then? I'll just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon - Charlie Says, Here and Now TV series etc) was a psychiatrist working in a hospital under her boss Dr. Desai (Kal Penn - Harold & Kumar trilogy, Designated Survivor TV series etc). After an incident involving one of a new patient she was treating, Rose started to experience same things as that patient where she would even doubt her own mind. This also impacted her relationship with her fiance Trevor (Jessie T. Usher - The Boys TV series, Dangerous Lies etc) and her older sister Holly (Gillian Zinser - 90210 TV series etc).

Where the Crawdads Sing - A Slow Burn Mystery Drama Movie Based on Best Selling Novel

After my long holiday, I realized there were plenty of movies that I missed out on seeing in the cinemas. There was however this movie that even till yesterday was still playing in one theater. As I was quite intrigued (having a mystery as its premise), I decided to give it a try yesterday by myself while my wife would rather continue watching her favorite South Korean series & watch this one when it is officially streaming in Indonesia. OK, let's find out more, shall we?

Brief Story Line

Set in the year 1969, Kya/Catherine Clark (Daisy Edgar-Jones - Fresh, Normal People mini series etc) who was referred by the townspeople as Marsh girl became the suspect of a murder investigation when the rich Chase Andrews (Harris Dickinson - The Kingsman, The Darkest Minds etc) was found dead. Kya was assisted by local lawyer Tom Milton (David Strathairn - Nightmare Alley, Alphas TV series etc) to defend her case.

(2022) Lou - A Very Grim Action Thriller Movie

Like any other normal Friday, there was a new movie released on Netflix that I would usually watch. This time it was an action thriller that seemed grim but I still gave it a try. OK, will go into it now.

Brief story Line

Set in the 1980s, a woman named Lou (Allison Janney - The Addams Family 2019 version, The Girl on the Train etc) was living by herself in a small island only accompanied by her dog Jax. Her nearest neighbor was a single mother named Hannah (Jurnee Smollet - Birds of Prey, Lovecraft Country TV series etc) with her very young daughter Vee (Ridley Bateman).

Do Revenge - A Fun and Interesting Teen Drama Comedy with an Intriguing Premise

I was a bit late to watch this movie as it was released while I was on my way home from holiday and I only got the chance to see it last night after my wife watched it the night before. So let us get on with it then. 

Brief Story Line

Drea (Camila Mendes - Riverdale TV series, Palm Springs etc), an ambitious girl from average family was very popular in Rosehill private school where she was best friends with the very rich Tara (Alisha Boe - 13 Reasons Why TV series etc) and few others. Drea's boyfriend was the most popular boy in school named Max (Austin Abrams - Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark etc). After an incident, Drea somehow became the school's pariah and she decided to do revenge on the people who did this to her after she met with another girl named Eleanor (Maya Hawke - Stranger Things TV series, etc).

The Protege - A Gritty Action Thriller Movie

In my last holiday trip, I was on long connecting flights for around 17 hours which gave me plenty of time to enjoy the inflight entertainment. And in the Emirates Airline, there were tons of movies that somehow I have not seen, so I spent a lot of time watching several of them. This was one of those films that I wanted to write as it was quite new and just released on one of the streaming platform last week. Well here's more to it.

Brief Story Line

Anna (Maggie Q - Fantasy Island, Divergent movies etc) was a professional contract killer raised from childhood by her mentor Moody (Samuel L. Jackson - Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, Incredibles 2 etc). As a cover for her main work, Anna opened a rare books shop in London where she got acquainted with a mysterious guy named Michael Rembrandt (Michael Keaton - American Assassin, Dumbo live version etc). 

(TV SERIES) The Imperfects Season 1 - A Fun Series with Engaging Story & Characters

During my 2 weeks vacation early this month, I did not really have time to see new movies/series as I was always outside and when I got back to hotel, usually my wife and I were too tired and just spent our time taking a rest. On my last day though, I started to watch this series on Netflix that was released a week before, which I felt very interesting and managed to finish it on Sunday night. So I'll just get to it then.

Brief Story Line

A group of young people who were test subjects of medical experiments since 7 years before, started to experience changes in their bodies after their medication was stopped abruptly. They were Tilda (Morgan Taylor Campbell) the lead singer of a band, Abbi Singh (Rhianna Jagpal) a brilliant researcher, and Juan Ruiz (Iñaki Godoy) a college student and comic book writer. All of them went to look for the scientist Dr. Alex Sarkov (comedian Rhys Nicholson) who performed these experiments.
