Keadilan - An Enjoyable Enough Indonesian Action Thriller Movie

When I saw this movie promoted in the Coming Soon section of Netflix, I already set my eyes on it. But somehow I missed out on the day it was released and only saw the day after. All right then, I'll just get on with the film then.

Brief Story Line

Raka (Rio Dewanto - Ben & Jody, Kamu Tidak Sendiri etc) had been working as security guard in the Court House witnessing various cases tried with the latest controversial one which resulted to injustice ruling. Meanwhile his pregnant wife Nina (Niken Anjani - 13 Bom di Jakarta, 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan etc) was in the final stage of studying to become a lawyer.

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice - A Pretty Hilarious Action Comedy Movie with a Touch of Sci-Fi

I noticed this movie was made available in Disney+ two nights ago and was immediately interested. But as it was already rather late, I decided to watch it following day. Without further ado, here's more on the film.

Brief Story Line

On the night when crime boss Sosa (Keith David - Mufasa: The Lion King, Horizon Line etc) was celebrating his son Jimmy Boy (Jimmy Tatro - Stuber, You're Cordially Invited etc) being released from prison, one of the guests, loan shark Nick (Vince Vaughn - Bad Monkey  TV series, Wedding Crashers etc) was shown to be having strained relationship with his wife Alice (Eisa González - Ash, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare etc). Meanwhile Nick's trusted colleague Quick Draw Mike (James Marsden - Sonic the Hedgehog 3, X-men films etc) was planning to quit from criminal life but his plan was ruined when Nick suddenly turned up and requested his help to kidnap someone. Despite his reluctance, Mike decided to help Nick in what was supposed to be his final job, though he was shocked once he realized the person to be kidnapped. 

(Mini Series) Something Very Bad is Going to Happen - An Intelligently Done Psychological Horror Thriller Series

I was aware about this series since few weeks ago which sounded interesting despite being a horror genre. So when it was finally released two days ago, I immediately gave it a try after finishing second season of another series and finished it last night. All right then, let's get on with it now.

Brief Story Line

Rachel (Camila Morrone - Death Wish 2018 remake, Daisy Jones & the Six mini series etc) and her fiancé Nicky (Adam DiMarco - The White Lotus season 2, The Order TV series etc) were on a road trip to Nicky's home to have their wedding party in one week's time. Along the way, Rachel kept on feeling something bad was going to happen and experienced few shocking and scary turn of events till they finally reached their destination.

Pretty Lethal - An Action Thriller Movie that was Purely For Fun and Pretty Entertaining

After finishing second season of one of my favorite series, I saw in the website for newly released films & series on various streaming platforms and noticed this movie was just made available on Prime Video. As it looked like fun, I decided to watch this first before continuing another series. OK then, why don't I just get right to it.

Brief Story Line

A group of ballerinas that consisted of the confident Bones (Maddie Ziegler - The Fallout, My Old Ass etc) the bitchy Princess (Lana Condor - Moonshot, To All the Boys movies etc), the religious Grace (Avantika - Mean Girls 2024 version, Tarot etc) and the sisters Zoe (Iris Apatow - The Bubble, Unstable TV series etc) & hearing impaired Chloe (Millicent Simmonds - A Quiet Place and its sequel) were invited to perform in Budapest. They went together with their teacher Thorna (Lydia Leonard - Last Christmas, A Woman of Substance TV series etc) to Hungary, but their trip was disrupted and they were forced to wait in a secluded inn quite far from the destination.

(TV SERIES) Scarpetta Season 1 - Could Have Been Better with More Technical Aspects and Less Dysfunctional Family Drama

As I was away for two weeks holiday, I was unable to catch new movies. And since I only got home late from all the walking around daily, I had very little time to see series at nights. However, last night I finally managed to finish a mystery series that was released on Prime Video since almost 2 weeks ago. So even though it's quite late, but I still want to write something about this series. All right then, let's just get right on it.

Brief Story Line

Story was told in two different timelines 28 years apart. In the present day, Dr. Kay Scarpetta (Nicole Kidman - Holland, A Family Affair etc) was just reappointed as Virginia's Chief Medical Examiner when a woman's body was found and her expertise was required to identify the cause of death. Kay enlisted her old colleague former Detective Pete Marino (Bobby Cannavale - Blonde, Super Intelligence etc) to assist her in specialist capacity. However Kay's work was sometimes a bit disturbed with her personal family issue from her older sister Dorothy (Jamie Lee Curtis - Haunted Mansion 2023, Knives Out etc) who she always had a fight with, to her niece/Dorothy's daughter the Tech genius Lucy (Ariana DeBose - Kraven the Hunter, Love Hurts etc) and Kay's husband the FBI profiler Benton Wesley (Simon Baker - The Mentalist TV series, Margin Call etc).

(2026) War Machine - A Highly Entertaining Full Action Sci-Fi Movie

I was aware about this movie since few weeks ago which totally interest me with its premise and lead star. Being major fan of action combined with some kind of science fiction element, made me very excited to watch it. That's why when it was released by Netflix on last Friday, I immediately gave it a try despite feeling a bit tired after seeing 2 films in a row in the cinema. Without further ado, here's more on the movie.

Brief Story Line

During the latest Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) a lot of candidates were trying their best to become part of the elite team,  including the experienced Staff Sergeant & war survivor who was referred to as 81 (Alan Ritchson - Playdate, Titans TV series etc). After a very intense 8 weeks program, many of the candidates were not selected, leaving only few who succeeded. For their final simulated exercise, 81 was appointed as team leader along with another Staff Sergeant referred to as 7 (Stephan James - 21 Bridges, Homecoming TV series etc), the loud mouth 15 (Blake Richardson - He Ain't Heavy etc), 44 (Alex King - The Longest Weekend etc), 57 (Daniel Webber - The Punisher TV series etc) and some others in a remote location.

Project Y - A Very Dark, Intense and Heavy Crime Thriller Movie

This movie was supposed to be released in all Indonesian cinemas on Friday, but in the morning when my wife and I were choosing where to see, we were surprised that it was not available in the biggest cinema chain. Hence we decided to see two other movies while postponing this the following day. Later that noon, the movie suddenly appeared on the list of that particular chain, however since we already bought other tickets, we only saw it on Saturday. All right then, let's just get on with the film.

Brief Story Line

Story focused on two women who were very close like sisters, i.e the calm straight thinking Mi-sun (Han Soo-hee - Gyeongseong Creature, Nevertheless TV series etc) who was working as escort girl and the impatient strong willed Do-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo - Ballerina, Queen Woo TV series etc) who worked as driver. They had saved all their money to start their own business. Unfortunately their plan was ruined due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die - A Very Interesting and Enjoyable Science Fiction Comedy Movie

As the second of our movie marathon two days ago, we opted to see this unique film that I was immediately intrigued when I saw its trailer few weeks before. Though it was not a blockbuster movie, but I thought its plot was very interesting. All right then, I'll just dive into the film.

Brief Story Line

On a rather busy night at a diner in Los Angeles, a man who claimed to be from the future (Sam Rockwell - Argylle, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri etc) tried to convince some of the customers to join him in the fight to change their fate. There were several people who were either forced or volunteer to join him, such as the teachers Mark (Michael Peña - All Her Fault mini series, Fantasy Island etc) and Janet (Zazie Beetz - Bullet Train, Joker etc), single mother Susan (Juno Temple - Venom: The Last Dance, Fargo season 5 etc), young woman referred to as Princess (Haley Lu Richardson - Ponies TV series, Split etc), Scott (Asim Chaudry - People Just Do Nothing mockumentary series, The Honeymoon etc) and few others. 

Hoppers - Funny & Entertaining With Simple Enough Story But Still Have Plenty of Heart Warming Moments

This week there were a lot of new movies released in Indonesian cinemas. I think since the operators wanted to focus on local films starting from next week as it is nearing the biggest holiday season in Indonesia, they opted to show them now while international movies will be available in 2 weeks time. My wife and I had another movie marathon yesterday and saw this one first. OK I'll just get to it then.

Brief Story Line

Mabel Tanaka (Piper Curda - The Wretched, I Didn't Do It TV series etc) had been living in Beaverton since her childhood years and loved all animals especially the ones in the glade. However when mayor Jerry Generazzo (Jon Hamm - Transformers One, Baby Driver etc) decided to build freeway passing through the glade, Mabel was adamant not to allow it happen as the animals had to move out. When Mabel found that her biology professor Dr. Sam Fairfax (Kathy Najimi - Sister Act, Veronica's Closet TV series etc) was conducting science experiment that would allow a person's mind to be transferred to an animal-like robot, she somehow got herself to be part of it and hopped to the body of a beaver. 

(TV SERIES) Young Sherlock Season 1 - Interesting Take on the Famous and Beloved Brilliant Detective During His Younger Days

I found out about this series just recently on the internet and was interested because of the title. So when the whole episodes were released two days ago on Prime Video, I immediately started watching and finished it last night. Without further ado, I'll get right on it. 

Brief Story Line

Set during 19th century London, young & intelligent Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin - The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, The Loneliest Boy in The World etc) was getting into so much trouble that his older brother Mycroft (Max Irons - Crooked House, Condor TV series etc) decided he should go to Oxford. Meanwhile their mother Cordelia (Natascha McElhone - The Secret of Moonacre, Halo TV series etc) had been in asylum for many years due to incident during Sherlock's childhood years, and their father Silas Holmes (Joseph Fiennes - Shakespeare in Love, The Handmaid's Tale TV series etc) was always away on business trips. 

Panda Plan: The Magical Tribe - Just Like Its Predecessor, Still Not An Entertaining Jackie Chan's Action Comedy

A couple of weeks ago, I saw the trailer to this latest Jackie Chan movie which was going to be released after Chinese New Year. Although it has advanced ticket sale last week, but I opted not to buy them and decided to just do it during the weekend. Anyway yesterday my wife and I went to see it in the cinema nearest to our home. All right then, I'll get right on with the movie.

Brief Story Line

While passing through a remote location, Jackie (Jackie Chan - Unexpected Family, Kung Fu Yoga etc) and his beloved panda friend Huhu somehow got themselves into a hidden place in the mountains inhabited by strange local tribe led by its Chieftain (Ma Li - The Dumpling Queen, Unbeatable You TV series etc). Huhu was mistakenly recognized as divine creature like the tribe's prophecy that she would be able to prevent major catastrophe by going to the mountain top together with a messenger. Jackie who was thought to be the messenger obviously did not want to do the task and tried to get out of the village with Huhu.
